Inprayer

The Sinners Prayer.
When you are chained in darkness,
or lost to a mighty fear..
Remember to call for Jesus Christ and he will soon come near.
It really doesn't matter, if you're strong or weak,
When you call him he will come, for he's the one you seek.
Perhaps you can't explain it with fancy words or thoughts.
But Jesus Christ will save you from all the troubles you have wrought.
As time goes on you'll change and you'll become his friend
And he will counsel constantly and help your soul to mend.
When it's time to meet your maker, you'll go with joy to him
He'll call you son or daughter and will invite you to come in.
I think the simplicity of this poem would lend itself to music. Too bad I can't play a note! :doh
