Well, this has been discussed in various threads relating to the fact that there is also a new moon that night or the night before (hence, it will be a "dark day") and that Israel could possibly strike Iran at that time, as that is also when the 2-week deadline for Iran ceasing uranium enrichment is up. We also have our navy preparing for a blockade to enforce sanctions and will likely be prepared to do so as of that weekend (search for Operation Brimstone to find the threads).

What makes this especially interesting is that it falls on the 1st of Av, according to the Jewish calendar, and that total solar eclipses are rare events. What's even stranger is that there is a total solar eclipse next year and the year after, and BOTH fall on the 1st of Av on the Jewish calendar.

So, it's not that it hasn't been discussed. It just hasn't had a thread of its own until you made this one. :)

I thought it especially interesting that the shadow will actually cover Isreal between 10:00 and 11:00 AM that day. At lease I think thats what it looks like.
I looked at the other in 2009, but that shadow is no were near Isreal.

Too bad we cant see it in the US.(sigh) :)

I am curious to see what happens. Isnt that a warning to the Gentiles or something? Curiosity is nawing at me on this subject. Especial since thats the deadline, and Iran already says it isnt gonna comply. At the same time tho, nothing might happen and this could be nothing, or just a warning. Fun to think and speculate about. Is there more info about this?

From what I understand, yes, solar eclipses are meant to be warning to Gentile nations, while lunar eclipses are meant to be warnings to Israel. Someone else will have to confirm; I don't have a link, I'm just going on what I've read from various threads here.

This is all very interesting, yeah-However, I wish the mainstream media would cover it more.

There are other threads about it. It's interesting that there will be two more after this year, all falling on the Jewish calender, !st of Av. Don't know if it means anything, but interesting non the less.

Do you have some scriptural backup for this? :wave
