Has anyone had problems with this dock and their computer. I bought the Kodak Easy Share Z712 IS camera and the compatible G600 printer dock. Since installing the software (v. 4.2) I have been getting a blue screen telling me it is shutting down Windows to protect something or another and doing a physical memory dump. Computer guy came and reinstalled everything and updated bios updates, drivers, etc. and thought it would work, but I have gotten the dreaded blue screen again. None of this started until I bought the new camera. Anyone having similar problems.
Next Question. My computer is a 4 year old Dell. We would like to buy a new Dell, but I would like to buy one that will go the long haul. Any suggestions on requirements that will help me get a longer life span out of the computer. This computer has the 512 mg (?) whatever and computer guy says that is slowing me down with my stuff. We have 2 laptops that we operate off of wireless router (connected to desktop) scanner, copier, camera, etc. So I'm open to suggestions. Just would prefer to stay with Dell.

the camera software might be competing for memory with other software.
You could try changing the DMA settings of the camera.
usually people have so much clutter loading up with their computer, clearing the clutter and turning off unnecessary services might do the trick.
It could be XP does not like your camera's drivers.
check their website for alternative drivers or any updates.

Thanks Buzzard. According to computer guy, it was a driver problem, one that he thought he had fixed. I have read of some problems that some earlier versions of Kodak Easy Share had with Windows XP so I'm not sure if it is a Kodak problem or because my computer is older and just not up to snuff to handle it.
I dont' have a lot of junk running on mine as the guys that service our computers are pretty good about making sure we don't have things cluttering up the computer's memory. The biggest programs I have are a genealogy software program and Norton's Internet Security (which I'm told is a hog). My cousin bought a different Easy Share camera and dock and she is experiencing some problems too so I was curious.

Yes, Norton is a hog, I would remove it for free AVG.
Sounds like Kodak has driver conflicts with XP
You might want to try another camera
