What do the nations need to be healed from, which would require the leaves of the Tree of Life?

Rev 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Eze 47:12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

I Figured some one else might add info here
The source of this water as pointed out in rev 22:1 is from the thron of God and the lamb of God.. it feeds the river the water is pure and crystal clear refered to as the water of life..
It is this never ending well of water and River of life is what feeds these trees of life on both side of the river and it is this liveing water of life we are promised to drink from ...
please note That rev 22:2 say the leaves of the trees were for the healing of the nations.. The leaves sever as medicine This medicine is slavation and the healing touch of Christ, The fruit serves as meat The word of God ..

Yes. the tree of life is also mentioned earlier in the Book of Revelations:
Revelation 2:7 (King James Version)
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
"Overcometh", the challenge is to overcome what's going to happen in each of the following letters. "Paradise" was orginally a Persian word for a pleasure garden, mentioned here to symbolize the eschatological state of heaven in which God and all are restored to the perfect fellowship that existed before sin entered the world.
