I thought I would share with you guys something that happened and I KNOW God had his hand on me.

So many things to tell, I am not sure where to start but here goes:

On July 6th, I went in for laproscopic surgery to have part of my small bowel removed for Crohn's disease. I also have Cystic Fibrosis which is a lung disease (which there is no cure for at this time). Anyway, I went in for surgery and the anesthesiologist told me as we were entering the room for surgery that he fully expected me to come out on a respirator and that I would be on it for a few days. So, I go in for surgery and go to recovery. First miracle, no respirator needed.

Second miracle, the surgeon didn't find any Crohn's disease which was diagnosed with blood tests and small bowel follow through, both of which my dr. said were very definitive.

Now, the surgery was over at 9:00 am. and I was in recover until 1:00pm before I woke up enough that my husband could come and see me. I still wasn't really awake. He would talk to me and I would just roll my eyes and go back to sleep. Third miracle: he told the nurse something wasn't right. He told her I looked too pale. She told him it was just all the medication. She was writing up my papers to discharge me. I woke up enough that I had to cough. When I coughed I told the nurse I felt like I was going to faint. And all I remember then was laying back down and all the sudden I see glimpses of doctors and nurses all around me. I remember they were trying to get an i.v. going (which I am a very hard stick) and I never even felt a thing. I went into shock. Come to find out, I was bleeding internally. The dr. had cut a gastric artery. I lost over 4 units of blood and they gave me 3. They got me stabilized, however, there is a lot I don't remember. They took me to ICU and after I was brought to they said they had to do emergency surgery to see where I was bleeding from and get it stopped.

Fourth miracle: They once again informed me that I would surely come out on a respirator. Again, that wasn't the case.

The main thing I remember while in ICU is telling everyone how God had healed me of the Crohn's. I even told the drs. I somehow don't think they believed me though.

I know God let this happen for a reason but yet his hand of protection was all over this situation. I bled for 7 hours before they realized something was wrong.

I can't praise God enough for what He did.

Anyway, I just wanted to share how God is in control and I hope me sharing this will help to encourage someone.

God Bless

Julie

Amen! Thanks for sharing this encouraging story.
I was very surprised you expressed no animosity toward the doctor for the mistake too. What a forgiving spirit you have.

Thanks everyone:hug! It is wonderful to know that God is in control no matter what. As I said, God LET it happen for a reason.

Thank you so much but if I have a forgiving spirit is because of God. If you think about it, we are all human and make mistakes even though sometimes they can be deadly. But God was in control of the situation the whole time. He could have stopped it, but he allowed it, and it was for his glory and his purpose!

I just hope that the story gives others encouragement because it just makes me sit back in awe of God's greatness and power!

God Bless
