Ecologists decry U.S. border plan

Mexico called on the United States to alter a plan to expand border fences designed to stem illegal immigration, saying the barriers would threaten migratory species that roam freely across the frontier.

Ways to minimize environmental damage from the fences could include the creation of cross-border bridge areas and "green corridors" of wilderness without roads that would be less attractive to smugglers, according to a report prepared for the Mexican government by experts and activists from both nations.

Ecologists say species at issue include Mexican jaguars and black bears, and the endangered Sonora pronghorn

Speaking of Mexico ... I was told:

English is taught (as a foreign language) in ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

medical care, if you don’t want to go to a free state clinica

(or use the services of the Army and Navy, which keeps their doctors in practice with mobile clinics in underserved areas)

you can use a pharmacy doctor (chain pharmacies have in-house clinics) for 20 pesos (2 dollars) or less.

Children born in Mexico are Mexican citizens. If you read the Mexican constitution, so are children born on Mexican airplanes, boats and off-shore oil platforms.
