Hi There,

I'm not a home school Mom (my DD is only 1 years old) but I have a question for all of you that I think you are probably the best suited to answer.

My cousins kids are really into the Harry Potter series and the Percy Jackson series (Percy Jackson is about like Harry Potter). Anyway, they've just recently started going to church, and I'm trying to introduce the kids to Christian literature, or at the very least literature that doesn't deal with the occult. So, if anyone has a 9/10/11 year old boy, I would LOVE your suggestions.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for books for 12/13/14 year old girls, that would be fantastic too!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.

There's a series of books that my daughter likes, but she's not much of a reader, so it takes a long time for her to read. Anyway, their called Landon Snow. There are six or seven books in the series, and they aren't real long.

The Wormling series by Jerry Jenkins is supposed to be like the Harry Potter series except with Christianity in the mix. I've never read them, just seen them advertised.

Fantastic! Thank you so much for the recommendations NewWorldOrder and Gideon! I truly appreciate your help.

I'll pop into the library and pick a couple up next week so I can read them and start talking the alternatives up to them.

There's a book series called Dragons in our Midst. Here's a link.

And another one by the same author, Oracles of Fire.

Awesome! I'll check out the Oracles of Fire and Dragons in our Midst series. His book group read the Chronicles of Narnia series a couple of years ago, and he loved it.

Thank you so much for your suggestions.

Your local Christian bookstore might have some good alternatives. Maybe you could even take him there and have him pick out some things, because many of them have a large selection of really neat Christian books, games, toys, etc. for kids. He's sure to find something he'd like.
