Take me away!

I was planning on homeschooling my child and working two twelve hour shifts a week - that would be two days away from him. He's two now so I have some time to think about this.....
Is it possible to be successful with schooling and work part time?

I also plan on working part time and homeschooling my children i know it will be hard at first but so worth it to know my children are being raised with conservative christian values. There is a place in town called Aaron's learning center which is christian based. They will go there 2 days a week to be able to be around other children and then the rest of the time they will be homeschooled. i would like to know from other moms who homeschool how hard it was starting out.

Take Me Away, I have been homeschooling my daughter since she was in the 6th grade, and she is now going into 12th grade. I work full-time, although I am currently unemployed. We use the A BEKA DVD curriculum and it has worked out very well for us. When we lived in Florida, my daughter also participated in co-op classes every Friday, and made some good friends that way. I was blessed to have an employer who allowed me to work at home on Fridays, so that I could drop her off and pick her up at the appropriate times.
I'm happy to answer any questions that you might have. :hug

I also homeschool and work part-time. This will be our 7th year, and it can be done. I have found that on the days I work I will leave a detailed list for my children and whomever they are staying with as to what needs to be done. I just try to make sure that I am home with them on the days we are introducting new material. Also, my work days are good days for them to do reading assignments. I believe where there is a will there is a way. Good luck!
