    Default I have a date!

I met a woman at church, asked her out and she said YES!! Now I have to figure out where to go, what to do... any suggestions?

I'm not normally nervous about dates, but this one is different. It's going to be interesting, I think she is older than I am, she is divorced and I've never been married. Lot's of differences between us. But I'm very attracted to this lady, I noticed her right away, can't take my eyes off her. Would it be appropriate to invite her to dinner at my place for a first date? I'm a pretty good cook. Or go to a fancy resturant? Or something simpler? I want to sweep her off her feet.

Because it is your first date, she is divorced, and I'm guessing that you don't know her well enough to know much about her past, I'd say that inviting her to your place isn't the right direction.

I would suggest a public place, yet quiet and private so you can talk. A place with a good variety of meal choices, but not terribly expensive. Impress, but not outside of your normal budget.

    good luck!

Yeah, and take her to your favorite desert place (other than Dairy Queen) for after dinner. A nice little local dive.

Hmmmm, don't burp or fart..... inexpensive elegant, private, not DQ.... dessert.... Hey I just had a thought, there is a local greek resturant around here called Taverna Agora. I think it may fit the bill nicely. Now what should I wear? This woman is different, should I go as far as a tie? Sport jacket? Any ladies peeking in here are welcome to comment.

Base your outfit on the appropriate attire for the restaurant. Judging by the name, I would think it was kind of casual. I'd say go with khakis and a button up. Perhaps, nice jeans and a button up - no tennis shoes. You want to respect her by looking good, but you don't want to overimpress her, either.

Maybe you should move this thread into the prayer requests before you go...

My son is in the dating scene. He is praying for a Christian wife. But what he does when he dates a young lady more the once, is one of them picks the entertainment they will do and the other picks the resturant they will eat at. They take turns on who picks what. So far it has been movies, putt putt golf, bowling and concerts.
hope this helps for the future.

Maybe you would be better asking her were she would like to go .....you dont want to end up taking her somewhere if she won t like the food .........ie Greek
If you do that then you ll no exactly what to wear !!!!

    Good Luck

My date was great!! This is one awsome lady. She is quite a bit older than I am, but very elegant. We talked about our faith, our dreams, church, life...... We both love the beach and golf. I asked her out on a golf date, figure we can play then have lunch.

Hey Librarian, you must be from around here. I've never been to the Melting Pot, I'll have to try it. I'm always looking for new places to go.

Awesome! That's funny. I suck at golf and so does my wife. But her birthday is this weekend, and we are going to the beach. She also wants to get into golf, so we will probably go to a par 3, too.

I'm glad your date went well. God bless you two.

Another thing you can not do is try to guess her age. If you do, guess low!!!

    Hmmm,

And when you DO guess low... subtract five years from THAT too!

Women can do sooooo much with very little and create the right effects...(guess that is our appeal to them as well they think they can do the same with us).
