Wow the title of this thread caught my eye.. Mainly because my mother, now in her 60's said to me several times that when she was younger, the christian elderly would repeatedly say, "when money is referred to or appears like "monopoly money" the end times are here". Anybody else ever hear anything like this?

Not exactly, but my grandmother used to tell stories of the dire circumstances during the Great Depression. I have thought about the things she told more often over that last year than during the whole rest of my life.
