Need Some Help On The 27 EU Countries

It seems many on this board are pointing to the 27 Countries of the EU and the election of a PM or FM and how this could point somewhere??? Help me out here, I thought the Bible pointed to Only 10 Countries/Leaders, where 3 are removed leaving 7, where does the 27 come in?? Of course I am referriing to the AC and his entourage....

The 27 countries of the European block are technically now considered 1 nation. The main significance of this, is the reformation of the ancient roman empire. Im sure once we are raptured and taken to heaven, the antichrist will gather the worlds nations and divide them up into the 10 regions as he sees fit.

Keep in mind that the invisible lines that make up the European countries are there strictly because of WW1 and WW2 (and to a lesser extent, the Cold War). Certain countries within Europe merging based on ethnic or language similarities be it for economic or militaristic reasons wouldn't be unheard of. While we've certainly seen the break-up of several countries (Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia to be precise), having a Slavic "super-state" and eliminating 7 or 8 smaller entities is easily within both the realm of reality and something I wouldn't be surprised to see before the Rapture.

My other thoughts on this are actually really simple: it's not about how man sees it but how God sees it. That's not to say that God is ignorant of the current social-economic climate nor is it God being misleading, but instead that was how things were supposed to be established and that's how it's ordained (if you will, probably not the greatest choice of word there) by Him.

Anyways, if the ethnic Slavs were to unite under a single "state" and then some of those independent islands were to go back to Italy, Greece and/or Turkey, your total number of countries quickly goes down. And mind you, that's just random thoughts based on historical alliances and status of being independent in classic Europe. It may end up being much more complex than that. I think it's safe to assume that none of us know the answers yet and beyond that, everything will be speculation.

But it is fun to play those scenarios out in one's mind.

Thanks for the responses. I need to study this area of Prophecy a bit more than I have. I have always thought there would be 10 Heads of State (so to speak) reduced to 7. In the past I had been led to believe these would be countries from the revived Roman empire. However, since their are 27 in the EU, I tend to see it as a single region or "horn" with nine others sectioned out from around the globe... just need more study I guess... I like "Brings Us Back's" thoughts above. Yes one day we will know the answers and will get to watch all this play out from the lobby of someones mansion in Heaven... Probably on HTV (Heaven TV) a subsidiary of Fox News. hehe!

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. My husband is jealous of the computer, so when he's home, I don't get to spend much time on it.

Here's what Wikipidia says about it, "The Western European Union (WEU) is a largely dormant intergovernmental defence and security organisation, established to implement the Treaty of Brussels (1948). The WEU is headquartered in Brussels, with a staff of 65 and an annual budget of €13.4 million.[1] There are no formal ties between the WEU and the European Union (EU), although all WEU members are also EU members. It is expected that WEU members will decide to scrap the organisation following the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon on 1 December 2009"

I wonder what would happen if those 10 WEU kings decide to hand over their power to the AC since they are of the same mind. There's a verse of scripture I think that says something to that affect.

Anyway, I'm a horrible teacher. But, I once was like you trying to understand all of this. And, I'm not saying the WEU are the 10 kings either because I don't know for sure. Buzz, one of the moderators, has some really good stuff on this topic. There is a chart that shows a visual of the WEU, and the EU, etc.

I'm sorry if I'm just confusing the issue. When I get a chance over the next day or two, I will look for the charts I have, etc. Hopefully that will help some.

Thanks Peace777! I will certainly browse through that thread. I had once heard of the WEU from Hal Lindsey, but lately its all been the EU 27. Just makes you waonder what the current EU has to do with prophecy other than the possibility of the AC coming from within its ranks. Thank your Hubby for me for letting you post
