Thumbs up The Christian Channels Concentrating More on The End Times,,,

I have noticed that each night when I check out the Christian channels, they are finally taking notice of the end times approaching! Its wonderful! But, I wonder how many unbelievers ever turn on those channels? I think we need more billboards, in the big cities, or anywhere, that would draw their attention to these last days!

I have noticed that too, some are good and speak the truth...I think we need to put it on billboards and with signs, and put on our tennis shoes and hit the streets with groups of people handing out tracks and cds and dvds and talking with people about what Jesus has done for them, people need a savior, they need Jesus

Are they coming at it from a Biblical view or is this more of the Nostradamus et al "end times"?

Psalm 25:4-5 ~ "4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. 5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day."

"It isn’t up to us to keep ourselves saved; we are in the double fisted grip of the Father and The Son – sealed in by The Holy Spirit."

That's my thoughts too, although I worry about their eschatology. Most of the "Christian TV" I see is so odd on all the other stuff I expect them to goof this up as well.

where most "christian tv" is so full of error, i think that maybe they might simply be hoping to follow the money. if they can use their error to stir up uncertainty and fear they can make a lot of money selling books and audios and trinkets designed to let you "rest assured"

The devil is not fighting religion; he is too smart for that. He is producing a counterfeit Christianity so much like the real one that good Christians are afraid to speak out against it.

Imagine now if there was a way to get a group of sound prophecy teachers on christian TV for a 1 hour show??? or a 2 hour special, give them the same time the movie players get!

Psalm 25:4-5 ~ "4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. 5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day."

Icebear, I can agree with you on that,,, but some seem sound in their teaching. But,,, last night I heard one guy say that the Iranians have successfully launched a satellite,, and that they could easily put a weapon to destroy Americas computer chips in the electricity and computers and cars and such! Now I havent heard that they launched a satellite,, has anyone else??

    Nope, havent heard that.
I agree, there is more end times teaching now than ever before
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
    - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Ready and waiting for lift off!!

Yep. They've had a satellite since 2005, four years ago today in fact!

Iran: Satellite Capable of Spying on Israel
    Wednesday, November 16, 2005

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran said the satellite would be purely scientific. But a month after its launch — and only weeks after the president said Israel should be wiped off the map — the head of Tehran's space program now says the Sina-1 is capable of spying on the Jewish state.

The launch of the Russian-made satellite into orbit aboard a Russian rocket last month marked the beginning of Iran's space program. Officials say a second satellite — this one Iranian-built — will be launched in about two months, heightening Israeli concerns.

The Sina-1's stated purpose is to take pictures of Iran and to monitor natural disasters in the earthquake-prone nation. Sina-1, with a three-year lifetime, has a resolution precision of about 50 yards.

But as it orbits the Earth some 14 times a day from an altitude around 600 miles, with controllers able to point its cameras as they wish, Sina-1 gives Iran a limited space reconnaissance capability over the entire Middle East, including Israel.

"Sina-1 is a research satellite. It's not possible to use it for military purposes," said Deputy Telecom Minister Ahmad Talebzadeh, who heads the space program

    then in 2008...

Iran says it has successfully launched a rocket capable of carrying its first domestically built satellite.

Officials said only the rocket had been fired, correcting state media reports that the communications satellite itself had been sent into orbit.

The White House voiced concern, saying the technology could also be used for launching weapons.

Tehran has pursued a space programme for years, despite international concern over its nuclear plans.

In February it sent a probe into space as part of preparations for the launch of the satellite.

    Long-held ambition

Footage aired on Irinn (Islamic Republic of Iran News Network) showed the launch of the Safir rocket in darkness.

The presenter said that the satellite launch was a trial which was successful. State and military officials confirmed the launch had taken place.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was at the event, said one report.

In October 2005 a Russian-made Iranian satellite named Sina-1 was put into orbit by a Russian rocket.

Sunday's launch comes amid a long-running dispute over Iran's nuclear activities.

White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said: "The Iranian development and testing of rockets is troubling and raises further questions about their intentions.

"This action and dual use possibilities for their ballistic missile programme are inconsistent with their UN Security Council obligations."

The US and some European countries have demanded that Iran curtail uranium enrichment - but Iran protests that its purposes are peaceful and says it has a right to continue.

Iran turns to Italy to launch satellite
    By: NASSER KARIMI
    The Associated Press
Iran announced Tuesday it will use Italy to launch a communications satellite after waiting years for Russia to do the job, the semiofficial Mehr news agency reported.

General Mahdi Farahi, the head of Iran's Aero Space Industries, said the satellite, which Israeli media claims is for espionage purposes, would be launched by the Italians some time in the year after March 2011.

He gave no reason for the switch away from Russia, but in February Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad complained about Moscow's continuing failure in launching the satellite.

"A long time ago our scientists built a communications satellite, but some countries have blocked the launch," he said at the time, in a possible reference to U.S. pressure on Russia.

The satellite, which was built with an Italian company, was first displayed in 2005 and Iran at the time said it would be launched that year by a Russian Cosmos-3 satellite-carrier.

The satellite is designed to travel in low-earth-orbit to assist in data communication over a period of three years, said Farahi.

Iranian complaints over Russia's delays have been on the rise in recent weeks after Moscow warned it could back new sanctions against Iran if it fails to take a constructive stance in the nuclear talks.

Earlier this week, a top Iranian lawmaker also expressed dissatisfaction over Russia's continuing delay in delivering the sophisticated S-300 anti-aircraft system. Russia and Iran signed an agreement for the system 2007, but Israel vociferously opposes the deal and has been lobbying Russia not to deliver it.

Russia is also helping Iran to build its first nuclear power plant but its inauguration has also been repeatedly delayed.

Russia is part of the U.N. effort to ensure Iran doesn't use its nuclear program for weapons-making purposes, as the West fears.

A U.N.-brokered plan in October requires Tehran to send most of its low-enriched uranium to Russia to be further enriched and eventually turned into nuclear fuel, in a move to allay international concerns.

Very scarey! I think what the person called it was an EMP, that could shut down pretty much our whole country! Couldnt the US just shoot these satellites down, especially before they can do any damage?

I have Sky Angel. There are more and more end times related shows. Good sound doctrine. In fact, for my latest bible study we did the end times. I was able to videotape several shows to use during the bible study for teaching purposes.

There are others that get their doctrine mixed up. But I've discovered that whether doctrine taught is good or bad, people in general won't "get it" unless they are serious in getting deep into Bible Study for themselves. Out pastor taught an end times series that was very good but the majority just didn't get it. He was shocked. He also thought that my study would have to be moved to the church because he thought there would be too many signing up to hold it at my house. Wrong again.

So even though there are so many good end times Christian TV shows, and their pastors are even preaching on it (sometimes), not many are noticing. Then they will say nobody taught them anything.

There are very good prophecy shows out there. I consistently watch Hal Lindsey and David Reagan each week, as well as Jewish Voice with Jonathan Bernis, John Ankerberg and Zola Levitt and those three deal with a variety of topics, including prophecy. I also sometimes catch Prophecy Watch, Prophecy in the News and Discovering the Jewish Jesus (though that last one is post-trib). There are a few others out there, like Grant Jeffrey, The King is Coming and Bible Prophecy Unraveled with Hilton Sutton but I just don't have time to watch everything I want.

Watch out for Hilton Sutton- he is not sound in his teachings-a red flag comes up to me when his name is mentioned. He is definitely a WOFer(he's highly praised by Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar)-here's a direct quote from his website: "Celebrating over fifty years of ministry, Dr. Hilton Sutton presents the prophecies of the scripture in an edifying manner, free from doom, gloom and speculation. He dismisses commonly taught but unbiblical eschatological themes, such as imminent economic collapse, a coming one-world government ruled by a world dictator, and a great falling away. Instead he clearly demonstrates that the Bible foretells prosperity throughout the closing hours of this age, and the greatest harvest of souls ever by the glorious victorious army of God, the Church; a harvest that, after the Rapture of the Church, will continue to grow throughout the seven years of Tribulation until we return with Jesus and all the saints to establish the first and only world government, the one thousand year reign of our Lord."

I stopped watching him. From the few times I watched him I didn't find anything wrong with him, but I didn't like the way he taught. Made me feel like he was talking down to me. I think he's better than Van Impe, but the other programming is better.
