"I do not seek to understand that I may believe, but I believe that I may understand: for this I also believe, that unless I believe I will not understand." --Anselm of Canterbury

    Hebrews 12:3-4
For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

    Thanks, Yogi!

I'm printing this out for someone I know who will love it.
    Matthew 22:36-40

36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" 37 And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' 38 "This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' 40 "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

Thank you yogi, I just printed it for my Dad, he is a Christian, but he's not real sure of the rapture. I hope this will help him...

I have a question about this article. He states in paragraph 5 that the Rapture occurs at Rev. 4:1. Can someone break this down for me. How do we know this is referring to the Church and not just for John.

number 32 is a good point I hadn't thought of before....

The Antichrist will prevail against the saints during the Tribulation Period, but the gates of hell won’t prevail against the Church (Rev. 13:7; Matt. 16:18). Therefore, the Church won’t go through the Tribulation Period.

    1 Cor 15:
51Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

    1 Thes 4:
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The instance in Rev 4:1 seems to have a lot of the same elements described in other places where it talks about the rapture. It was definately just for John. Seeing as how Revelation is about things to come, and the similarities between 4:1 and other rapture passages, it can be argued that Rev 4:1 is also a picture of the rapture.

    Does that make sense?

Can we ad also Ps;18:19 and Ps 118:5 as rapture texts, In Dutch (I am from Belgium) a large space is translated as "space", a place up there in the clouds?
David cried it out in a moment of distress

Rev 13:7 doesn't mention the gates of hell; Matthew does. These are two separate scriptures, and not ran into one scripture.

My pastor argues that the "saints" in Rev 13:7 is the church. He does not believe in the pre trib rapture. He claims that many Christians suffered death, torture and persecution before the coming and after the coming of Christ; even until this day, so the rest of the church will too.

In order to suggest that the Church will go through the Tribulation, someone has to argue each of those away.

    Can't wait!

Thanks for mentioning Ps;18:19 and Ps 118:5. I have never heard these two verses relating to the rapture, but they certainly seem to pertain to it.

I plugged these verses into the Interlinear Study Bible for the Hebrew word for large space - broad or roomy place, wide, expanses (mer-khawb') and found a similar verse in 2 Samuel 22:20
    http://www.biblestudytools.com/lexic...v/merchab.html

2 Samuel 22:17He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; 22:18He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me. 22:19They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. 22:20He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me. 22:21The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
