i believe these people are experiencing someting real. they are playing with the spirit realm and it is dead serious and they don't have a clue. the spirit world is getting the world ready to follow thier false messiah. people are becoming spiritual, but just the wrong spirit (AC).

The spirits of the saved dead go to be with the Lord, the spirits of the unsaved dead go to Hell to await their judgment. There are no human spirits wandering around outside of those two places.

Both UFO's and ghosts are demonic activity meant to deceive. Best not to focus on things of darkness, as the Bible warns us.

Let's keep our focus on God.

No I haven't seen it, but don't be afraid for greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. It might sound simplistic, but it's not. God Himself said it.

A friend of mine kept trying to get me to vote for it so it would be released; I didn't vote once.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

In the event of darkness, depression, sadness, or loneliness, your Bible can be used as a flotation device.

No offense, but in my opinion, as Christians, we should not even think of seeing a movie like that. Paranormal things are likely demonic in nature. I am sorry you had to get spooked like that, perhaps this can serve as your warning not to partake in such 'entertainment'?

Good grief! This reminds me of the reactions people had seeing 'The Exorcist' back in the 70's. That one still disturbs me to this day. Movies like that are creepy beyond words and are indeed demonic. It's fun to be a little spooked during this time of year but enough is enough!!!!! Movies like this are too extreme.

On the flip side, I do remember people rushing back to church after seeing the Exorcist. Maybe some of them actually got saved because they had the bajeebers scared out of them. Hmmmmmm...... Well, at any rate, I'm NOT going to see this movie. No thanks, I'll pass.

I saw it. It had a commonality with a movie called "Drag Me To Hell" released earlier this year. In both cases, the heroine in peril called on psychics for their answers. My first thought would have been clergy!
I thought it was a false note in both movies. If you have your main character choose a psychic first, and it doesn't work, have the character try an alternative!
I really struck me that the writers/directors would accept any help but Divine.

I hear Paranormal was another Blair Witch Project type movie which I thought was so boring, ridiculous, unscary, and a waste of time.

at least the Amityville folks went through the channels but they always turn to a catholic priest who needs salvation as well

Revelation 22:17a The Spirit and Bride are now saying, "Come!" The ones who hear are now saying, "Come!" The ones who thirst are now saying, "Come!" Come LORD Jesus !

Blair Witch Project was just stupid! I never saw it but heard a lot about it. Not even remotely scary, IMO....

Because of having dabbled in the occult in my pre-Christ days I am so sensitive to that now I can't even stand to watch the commercials.
Zechariah 10:8-9 "I will signal for them and gather them in. Surely I will redeem them; they will be as numerous as before. Thought I scatter them among the peoples,, yet in distant lands they will remember me. They and their children will survive, and they will return."

There are positives about the movie. It offered likeable characters. It should be a given that if an audience is going to fear for the protaganists, it needs to care about them. Most writers/directors in this genre just don't get that.
The pacing was slow and deliberate. Rare to see that in a movie these days. It worked to build a creepy unease. The one flamboyant effect (the burning Ouija board) seemed out of place in the building of tension.
Also interesting was the different reactions between the sexes. Women were covering their faces during the scariest scenes. The few guys I talked to wanted the scares to be BIGGER, BADDER and more frequent.

Didn't see it, but one of my children did. Scared her to no end! Said she slept with her Bible after seeing it.
