Default cobbler SUPER FAST AND EASY!

My friend just told me about this easy cobbler and honestly, it is too easy and too good to be true.
I used a huge can of peaches. She said any kind of fruit or berry (especially berry) would be good.
I poured the whole can in my big, glass casserole dish.
Then, 2 boxes of butter cake mix. I had one Pillsbury and one Duncan Hines. I used them both. Pour them on top of the peaches. Spread the powder around. Take 2 sticks of butter and slice in little pats all around the top. Bake for about 30-40 minutes until golden brown in a 350 oven.
It is not only beautiful but was so fast and easy. The juice takes on a pudding texture. YUMMy!

This is what I call "dump cake". I use cherry pie filling, and a can of crushed pineapples then the yellow cake ( I only use 1 box though) and butter. Tall Timbers (rr member) has tried other variations of this as well, I believe even using chocolate cake mix.

Yes! The juice soaks up the powder.
I had never heard of it and I can't tell you how fabulous it was. My family ate a 5 lb. can of peaches, 2 cake mixes, and 2 sticks of butter. It was delicious!
    WHAT else did I miss????
I'll be taking another one to pot luck at church next Tuesday night! Blackberry or blueberry would be good and attractive. The buttery smell filled my house even the next day.

Is that what this is called..a dump cake? I want more recipes like this. Where can I find Tall Timbers variations?
I wonder if cherries, cream cheese, and chocolate cake mix would be good?

We do a variation of this when we're camping. We have a large, cast iron Dutch oven. We use applie pie filling, the apples and cinnamon variety of instant oatmeal, yellow cake mix and butter. We put it on hot coals for about 45 minutes to an hour. If you have vanilla ice cream to serve with it, it's even better.

Making note of this for our next camping trip since we have a large dutch oven as well.

I dunno about the cream cheese, just because of the texture, but it might be good!

I goofed. The Instant Oatmel is supposed to be apples and cinnamon. I'm going to edit the post with the recipe.

I just KNEW I was gonna be in trouble when I opened this thread. I'm hooked. It's now in my recipe box. My kids adore you, my jeans do not. I love cobbler.

Thanks! I went to the grocery store this morning and stood in front of the cake mixes like I was insane. My grocery lady asked me if I was "alright?". If she only knew...

Hi all! It has been a while. I am crocheting a Wedding Ring Quilt Afghan. Anyway...my MIL gave me the recipe to dump cake. She put pecans on top. It is good, but I often just leave them off.

I peeled about 5 lb. of apples and tried another mix yesterday. I added sour cream and eggs to the mix with a little milk and a stick of butter and it was gone before the day was over. With my big family and the frequent visitors and such I can see how this will save me alot of time and effort. My grocery lady, "Jill", asked me again if I was finding everything.....???? The cherries were VERY expensive at my store. Instead, I got there at 6AM and got the reduced bags of fruits and vegetables. I told the girl that I would buy everything that she was going to put out and I ended up with 2 big boxes of fruits and vegetables for $15.00 !!! Among that was about 10 lb. of the apples I used, about 12 avacados ($1.79 each here), oranges, lettuce, grapefruit, lots of beautiful tomatos and a big pile of bananas that will be banana bread before much longer. It was a good day!

I'll have to try that, I just love peach cobbler.

Has anyone used a box cake mix, mixed according to directions and then dropped teaspoons of pie filling into the cake mix and then baked.

We've done that in several combinations but one of my favorites is chocolate cake with cherry pie filling and when it's baked and cooled I like to frost with that coconut and pecan frosting.

Another strange but good is apple with yellow cake, I like the pecan frosting on that one too, kind of reminds me of caramel apples.

My DH loves one with blueberry pie filling and either yellow or chocolate cake.
