Default Praise Report and help needed in picking a Bible

I feel so Blessed and just have to Praise the Lord for His Blessings.

A few minutes ago I was on my FB page and I saw my 13 y/o granddaughter who lives in MN on so I opened the chat window. I was also reading the posts and saw where she had posted that she went to church this morning with her friend she is staying over with last night and today.

I asked her what was the name of the church and she said Berean Baptist and that she goes all the time with her friend Heidi when she stays over which is quite often.

I then asked her if Heidi believes in Jesus and she said yes and I asked her if she believes in Jesus and she answered yes. I told her that was good to hear because the only way for us to get to Heaven when we die is to believe in Jesus. I asked her if she has a Bible and she said no. So I asked her if she would like me to buy her one and send it to her and she said yes.

I asked her what kind of Bible did Heidi have and could she read it and understand it. She said it is pink and brown (girls LOL) and easy to read and for teenage girls.

This is where I need help and advice. At 70 I have not had experience with teens in many, many years. I know there are Moms and Dads out there with teens....could someone tell me if they know...what Bible is this, what translation, publisher? I do tend to go with Thomas Nelson publishers over Zondervan, but if I were to know the name of the Bible and who the publisher is and go to the bookstore close by and peruse it I could then know for certain if I would buy it for her. I read the KJV so you can see my dilemma.

Just knowing that my granddaughter is having seeds planted and hearing the Word of God preached has my heart bursting with joy.

Her mom, my daughter (who does know about Jesus and is rebelling) told me years ago that she and her husband would not tell the children about Jesus or God until they were adults......well I see that God has other ideas........Praise His Holy Name. Prayer does work

    Thank you and God Bless.

KJV might be a bit ye olde English and I know for me in my late 40s I am educated enough for it not to bother me. Especially having been in school in the days when Shakespere was heavily studied along with poetry by Yates, Byron etc..

However I know my children (in their twenties) and my nephew/niece (teenagers) have not had as much exposure to the older styled English at school. They all have modern translations. NIV and a Contemporary English version referred to as Bible 66 (for the 66 books of the Bible OT & NT). I like the Bible 66 for younger teens, it really is easy for them espcecially if they are not academically inclined. The NIV good for older Teens/young adults.

My mother for whom English is a second language also likes the Bible 66 or she uses my nieces NIV for teenagers version.

May God Bless your gift of a Bible.

    That's great news!

I did a "search" online for "pink and brown Bible" and noticed there are some in a few different versions (possibly more... I only looked briefly)... if that's something you are looking for.

Here's a link to a "pink and brown Bible" in the NASB:

Try doing a search... maybe you'll find something suitable.

this is wonderful Ann!! The life application is what my girls use and sometimes we'll read it against the KJV for fun (I know we are geeks) and it always checks out (LOL). Also it has all these great life-stories and it makes them think about how to apply scripture to life.
