interesting interview, but not once was Christ mentioned as the reason for Ted's "recovery". In fact God wasn't mentioned at all.

Another thing that irks me, is the interviewer said that the the reason the male prostitute made his relationship with Haggard public, was because Haggard was preaching against gay marriage while performing gay acts and that makes him a hypocrite. That makes absolutely no sense. There are lots of homosexuals who are against gay marriage, does that make them hypocrites.

Anyway, Gayle wrote a book about her experience. I hope God is mentioned.

Only God knows his heart, but I was perplexed that Jesus was not mentioned one time? God will forgive if he has confessed and sincerely repented and we all know that, but IMHO, I do not think he should Pastor a Church again. There are some that are leader's and there are some that are follower's and I think at this point Ted should be a follower and continue to be held accountable and seek spiritual guidance.

...no longer gay? OR no longer willing to work as an insurance salesman and give up those BIG BUCKS as a popular evangelist??? I do wonder, which it really is...

I saw him and his wife on TV a few months ago and he was really "down" and feeling sorry for himself about having to sell insurance and not doing very well at it AT ALL. Now maybe he really HAS reformed, but can't help but wonder if he simply MISSES the good income...

Are you implying that becoming gay was his free choice, but that becoming straight is something he needs to struggle about?

I think what Deborah55 meant was that if Ted is trying to live a heterosexual lifestyle in his own strength and not relying on the power of the Holy Spirit to help him, since homosexuality is something he struggles with, then he will fail and fall back into the homosexual lifestyle.

Only time will tell, and only those who truly know Christ have the abiltity to overcome sin.

Those who don't here is what happens!:

Matthew 12:43-45 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Self reformation is impossible only with Christ can man overcome his tendency to sin.
John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.Matthew 5:23-24 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
