The children are usually the ones who talk their parents into coming to church!!! Many of those families have been saved as a result. So, your blood can boil if it wants to but you should think before you go jumping on an entire denomination of Christians who use any and every opportunity to tell others of the love of Jesus. Those kids leave with information about Jesus, not just candy.

Thank you! I grew up in a Nazarene church. We always looked forward to the egg hunts and the treating (there was no tricking) at church since there was ALWAYS a lesson in what the true meaning of Easter was. For Halloween, it was a way for kids to still do the treating without the tricks and we dressed up as our favorite person from the Bible. That always had a lesson too. It was a nice way for kids to have fun in a safe, family friendly, and Christian environment. You can never know how many were saved just because of the events at the church like these.

After much thought on my part, I think my response to you was a bit snippy and I do apologize. I should have just explained our point of view. The last thing Christians need right now is to be fighting among one another about protocol, so I'm sorry. Love you in Christ, my sister!

These things are all precursors to post-Rapture events. Currently when something like this happens we typically see a backlash from Christians and a reversal of policy, but after the Restrainer is removed? There will be widespread (and probably immediate) elimination of any semblence of Christianity and honoring of the Lord from all walks of life.

As a former Nazarene, I would like to encourage you to check out the required reading at your Universities. I was a 27 year member of the Naz church AND youth pastor but when I saw where the Naz Church is heading I had to leave. God told me to have nothing to do with those things. God bless you, brother. Stand firm.
1 Thessalonians 5:4 (New International Version)

4But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

ok my post was being misunderstood. I said Wonder when they will change the name of Christmas Day and ppl respond they already have it's called winter vacation. I wasn't talking about Christmas Vacation but the name "Christmas Day". Maybe they will change it to "winter day" does that make more sense now?

So Glad to see this has been righted in my home-state!

I saw your apology before your original post. I'm glad.
I didn't mean to offend you or any Nazarenes. I guess I am offended that the world has to
mix in the easter bunny to compete with the cross and santa to distract from the miracle of
    Jesus birth.
I see another church in my area has a big gym and activities to draw people in. It's almost like
churches are trying to replace the work of the Holy Spirit by entertaining people and I believe that is not what the
church should be doing. Maybe I'm too rigid and don't have an open mind, but the gate is narrow and the path wide.
The more I draw closer to Jesus, the more I am offended by the world.
We are certainly in the last days.
The Lord can't bless what you don't invest.

Please pray for my daughter Lindsey to seek a relationship with Jesus while he may still be found.

Doesn't affect me, because I don't get very many days off and I don't get any vacations. This is still annoying PC though.

..As Laura Ingram would say,"Power to the People".We can change things when we set our minds to it.

I live in Iowa and about a 20 minute drive from Davenport. Actually I am surprised they reversed their decision. i'd like to think that is the end of it but I fear by next year the issue will be back. I mean we are talking about a state that recognizes gay marriage. So nothing should come as that big of a shock to us anymore.

Oh my, I did not know that.
