I have a family member who was instrumental in leading me to Christ many years ago. She was keen on prophecy and had an excellent handle on the Word. But now she watches people like Perry Stone and Sid Roth and no matter what information I show her about their false teachings, she thinks they are all harmless. When I visit her on Sundays she likes to watch these programs which are hard for me to sit through, let alone without shouting at the television. One night Sid Roth had this Crowder character on and he was spouting some nonsense about teaching people how they could be their own prophets and she was hooked. Needless to say, I don't go over on Sundays anymore and instead just

That video was a real eye opener. My version of centering prayer is prayer centered on God, Jesus, worship and thanksgiving. The noise that was coming out of the room full of people moaning make me think that must be what hell sounds like. This was really an horrible thing to watch, these are people who think they are somehow in close contact with the Holy Spirit, but who give every indication of being demon possessed.

I've noted this before, Satan was around when the earth was created. He knows his time is very short. We see all the evil going on in the world around us. It shows he's very busy because his time is short. The openly demonic activity that is present on this video confirms just how hard he is working to keep people from being led to the True Gospel. I pity them, they're in for a shock when they end up being 'left behind'. And for the false teachers of this stuff? I don't even want to imagine what God has in store for them. It's a fearful thing to fall into His hands as an unbeliever. How much worse after preaching a false gospel that gives demons power over those who believe in it?

My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; the fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

My aunt is more aware of false teachers, etc. but is blindsided by the good God has done through certain apostate preachers and teachers and thus believes the preachers and teachers are because of the good God did through them.
She is honest and faithful, but it's really frustrating to see a dear family member and sister in Christ be deceived in such a way.

Maybe tell her you'll calmly give some biblically based comments on the show, so she might be able to discern more.
It's worth a shot, because i do think that shouting may very well destroy your witness towards her.

I think it would be good to go over to her on other times, when she doesn't watch that filth.
Try to witness to her about these people and if she just keeps resisting, i do think separation is a good thing after all.

Wow, I dont know quite what to say....ive never noticed it before i saw this video, as I try to stay away from anything that is not taught int he bible, it seems they are taking scriptures and twisting the words to suit them. The sad thing is, so many youth, and even older people are looking for legitimate signs and wonders they can touch and feel here on earth, while doing so, they are being "possessed" by spirits not of God, and they want to "belong" to something because of the stresses and scary things going on in this world that this is how and why people are joining these movements. Im afraid I would run far away if someone in a church I went to started shouting, and doing things like this, in this manner..it is scary, and God help them. We need to pray for them. Thanks for sharing.

As I was reading this the bolded part of your post really got me thinking about some of the experiences in my past. What's interesting to note is that in some seemingly Christian circles they believe they will be left behind. While I have never quite understood this concept, these people believe in the Rapture yet believe because of "dreams, visions, or prophesies" that they have been told that they will be left behind to help spread the gospel. I know someone who said they had a "dream/vision" that they were standing at the wailing wall with much destruction around them and they believe that God was telling them that they were to be one of the two witnesses. There are many who actually claim this title, either in the past or still alive today. I really wish I could remember the scripture verse this person used to back their claim!!

Anyhow, this is an oddity, if these people who believe they will be left behind and are left behind, one has to consider the ramifications of that. At least to their own thinking they will believe they are special and will continue to spread a distorted gospel.

    Makes one think!

I personally think demons are telling them lies, so they believe they are saved, while they're not and so they will think that all is well when they are actually left behind.
Could be another part of the great delusion.

Anyhoo, Crowder and co just creep me out with their form of hidden witchcraft.
They need to turn to Jesus and put their trust in Him alone, no more drinking the spirit or tokin' the ghost.

Barachem I agree with you about Crowder, he creeps me out too.

I recently found out that a family friend went to one of his "gatherings". I love my family and friends, it tears me up that they fall for this stuff. Do I believe that they don't believe in Jesus... no, which is all the more confusing at times.

I just continue to pray, about all I can do.

Thank you for your concern and kind words. And I would appreciate your prayers for this family member. We still get together regularly but we no longer watch Christian programming together. I have tried to show her maaaaaany times what the Bible says vs. what these false teachers say but she no longer sees the distinction and would rather I not continue to bring it up to her. She throws a lot of her retirement money towards these false teachers too which I tried to address with no success. At one point Perry Stone was advertising "Meals that Heal"-meals that he had blessed and that if you purchased would supposedly heal you. She saw nothing wrong with that kind of thing. She was into the occult and mysticism several decades ago until she found Christ. It seems that she is not now able to differentiate between the new age mysticism she once rejected and its subtle workings now in the church. She is not going to church or Bible study either which doesn't help and we can't talk her into going. She cites health issues and fear of being judged for being a smoker but she is also very anxious around people. So I just keep loving her and praying for her. She's sweet but she's stubborn! lol And she will just shut down if she doesn't like what you are saying.
