Thread: I have a confession.

  1. #1

    Cry I have a confession.

This has been bothering me off and on for a while now and I feel terrible about it. In November of 2008, I convinced my mom to vote for Obama. I'm so sorry I helped elect this wicked, socialist, usurper. I was stupid. I didn't know anything about him and got caught up in the false "hopey changey" stuff. Little did I know how hollow and fake it all was.

I'm so sorry. Lord and RR please forgive me.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

In the event of darkness, depression, sadness, or loneliness, your Bible can be used as a flotation device.

You know you were forgiven the moment you did it, and besides...it's really nothing to seek forgiveness about, in my opinion. Obama won a lot of people over with his wonderful speaking skills and the promise and hope of change. You're not the only one.

    Penguin,

    It's okay.

A LOT of people got suckered in by Obama's smooth talk, his promises and his charisma.

To quote Captain Picard from the episode "The Drumhead:

"Villains who twirl their mustaches are easy to spot; those who clothe themselves in good deeds are well camouflaged."

It's at 10:14, but the whole vid is well worth listening to.

My point is: okay, so you were fooled. You asked God's forgiveness; accept it and stop blaming yourself. If it was God's will Obama be president, nothing any of us would have done would have made one iota of difference.

Oh Penguin, that is so courageous and honest for you to come here and admit. For a youngster you are wise beyond your years, such a good son and BIC. This is one of the many reasons why I admire and respect you. I only wish the worst of my sins ever in life was to convince someone else to vote....please don't fret over this. You have taken it to the Lord, and as of that very moment, he don't know what ya talkin bout....neither do I.

Everyone here has made their fair share of bad decisions.

Not to trivialize what happened, but I was afraid it was something serious, like convincing someone away from Christ.

Its not the best thing, what you did, but its not that bad in the big picture. I don't talk politics very much, but I told a few to not vote for him, it didn't matter. All of us have things we are ashamed of, but we learn that things are completely healed when we commit to it never happening again. And if we sin (not saying this was a sin), we have an advocate before the Father. The Lord forgives to the utmost.
Don't panic! Just be Rapture Ready.

    Joel 3:2

I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.

In the light of God's word this man is probably the right man for the right time and season. Just like Hitler's monstrous regime in the end came crushing down - it inadvertently opened the door for the world to permit the nation of Israel to come once again into existence. So mr. o. might be used by God to usher in the final season for this world, prior to Christ's coming; for it is the Lord who raises up or puts down the leadership of the nations according to his purpose. He even turns the hearts of the kings to the right or to the left. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Penguin. Imo, this man was going to be elected anyways. Please don't be so hard on yourself. I'll pray that you can find peace with this.

IMHO, you gave your opinoin to your mother about voting. Think that you are feeling condemnation not conviction. I could be wrong. But for you to feel responsible for her vote is not completely right.

I have giving my thoughts on a subject before and they have been emoitional or irrational but that doesnt mean I'm responsible for their actions. Your mother is a big girl and made her decision. Please don't beat yourself up. I too thought at the beginning that O was something else (as many others thought). I didn't vote for him in the end because he went against all that I believed in.

You are so wise and are such a blessing here! Our Lord loves you too!
    Many Blessings,
    Laura

We have all made goofs that in retrospect we would have done differently!

You've seen your mistake, owned up to it, and changed your ways.

For every one like you, there are probably 100 who are/were in the same category, BUT, for reasons of personal pride, will never admit that they goofed in following this political pied piper.

I view much of this election ('08) akin to when the Israelites wanted a king and Samuel was giving them what for about it, but God told Sam to go ahead as this was "From Me". Also after Solomon died and Rheaboam(sp) was getting ready to tighten the screws on the people and the rebellion came resulting in the split of Israel, and God once more said "This is from Me".

So while it was a real boner for the nation at the time(s), God had a bigger landscape to paint that was not visible to the citizens.
