I love! love! love! the movie The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, set in 1900 (made in 1947). I remember seeing it when I was a child and I loved it. I am not much of a "chick flick" kinda girl, but this movie is very good.
Rex Harrison and Gene Tierney were just great in it. Rex Harrison played such a great old curmudgeon sea Captain.

Dh and I are very particular about movies. We very rarely go to them, maybe one a yearand that's on my birthday or our anniversary.
We saw Prince of Persia on our anniversary and there was not one cuss word or vulgar word in the move - nada, none. There were no sexual scenes at all in the movie, not even a kiss.
We are very careful about movies on tv too. A few weeks ago we watched a Hallmark movie that was OnDemand. It was based on the story about the massacre at the Amish school house a few years back. The theme of it was 'forgiveness' and all of the violence that happened in that true story wasn't even shown.
Our movies here at Tinseltown and Carmacke are $5.00 a person on the first matinee on Tuesdays. So, that's only $10.00 for the two of us. I've never understood why people spend money on the theater snacks. We've never bought one snack at the theater in over thirty years of marriage.

" I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes--I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!"

Yeah, I've noticed that a lot of movies have gotten really dark and blasphemous these years.
I don't know if you guys know of it or not, but in January an ABOMINATION of a film called "Legion" was released, and it was pure BLASPHEMY, and blatantly Anti-God.
Even video games today are getting darker and darker, there are quite a few of them out there. One is called Demon's Souls for the PS3 where you kill things and then gather souls to use as currency to upgrade your character. Another, called Dante's Inferno, has that same concept except it takes place in Hell and has nudity in it. The God of War series is super-violent and GOW3 also has nudity I do believe. A game called Heavy Rain is just pure smut. There's one called Red Dead Redemption for the PS3/Xbox 360, made by the same people that made the Grand Theft Auto series, which although it does at first somewhat seem "cleaner" than GTA since the character is seen as a ''faithful family man'', about somewhere in the middle from what I've heard, there's a full blown pornographic scene in it.
Seems like the only video games that you can count on to not use God's name in vain are either older games or games made by Nintendo, such as Mario or Star Fox.
Anyway, entertainment is getting darker and darker everyday. Seems like the only thing that isn't full of sex or misuses of God's name are the older classics.
My uncle(who is unsaved and around 58 years old) lives with us and loves to watch movies on TV. Sometimes he'll watch a channel called "TV Land" which has older shows on them, and they are MUCH cleaner than the stuff that's on today. He also watches a channel called "Encore Westerns", which has some of the older shows such as Gunsmoke and Bonanza, and also show more modern movies and you can immediately tell a difference, content wise. Back then there was no blood or gore, someone just fell down when someone else fired a gun. Far different from today with all the sex, misuse of God's name, and detailed gore.
Not to mention the ''hero'' in many of today's movies or video games are just anti-heroes who are often just as evil as the people they're fighting in said movie/game, whereas the heroes of past movies were clearly virtuous, clearly defined heroes.
BTW the over-priced snacks at the movies are probably the theatre's sources of income.
Proverbs 16:6 "By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by THE FEAR OF THE LORD men depart from evil."
Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
If the open blasphemy, foul language and nasty scenes in many movies were the only thing that was amiss with Hollywood films, then i'd be inclined to agree that things are getting worse.
But with the near auto-inclusion of gnostic, masonic, and illuminati imagery in most Hollywood productions, even those geared towards kids, it is just the package following suit to its contents, which is literally and figuratively satanic.
I seldom go to the movies, not because of the package, but because of the subpar quality of movies and lately due to the hidden messages.
What i've come to realize in the last year, is that the satanic agenda behind most movies has been going on for tens of years, especially blockbusters.
And for the skeptics and those further interested: Next time don't focus on the story of the movie, but have a look out for sun symbolism, focus on a single eye [the all seeing eye, can also appear in a triangle or somewhere out of the blue], (knotted-off) pyramids, pentagrams (5 pointed stars count as well), ladders in weird places or weird focuses on them [Jacob's ladder, a masonic reference in films], checkered floors [Masonic checkered black and white or similar pattern.], masonic square and compass and/or a capital prominent G, etc.
And no, this is not paranoia, but pattern recognition.
I'll just say this as well, this has crept in into TV series as well and has been established for tens of years now as well.
I heard there's a new movie out called "Courageous," and it's very good.

Sorry, I was wrong. It's still in production, but sounds good. Here's the link to it:

Ever since it suddenly dawned on me that Rick and Ilsa actually spent the night together and they were not married, (Casablanca-1942), I have realized that Hollywood's ways are not the believer's ways -- they're never going to agree. The most innocent-looking sins will ever be presented as "ok" as long as it is an essential part of the story being told. Casablanca used to be one of my favorite movies.![]()

I REFUSE to see PRINCE OF PERSIA. Even if there are no bad words or cussing because..... the prince of persia in the bible is a demonic spirit. For those of you who don't know read... Daniel 10:10-15. The angel Michael was fighting with the "prince of persia" which is a fallen angel working for the evil one. This fallen spirit was trying to hinder Michael from delivering a message to Daniel.

I agree. I have been following this masonic symbolism for awhile now. Its so prominent in music videos too. If anyone wants more information there is a website to help point out these things and explain them. vigilantcitizen.com The all seeing eye is huge right now with music and music artists. Almost everyone is representing this sign in their music videos.

I am looking forward to seeing Grown Ups and Little Fockers. I just like silly movies.
But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 GOD BLESS YOU!!
Netflix has a few good Christian movies. I just saw Six. It was excellent!

I relate completely.
Before I got saved, I used to LOVE the Twilight movies. I never believed in the magic and vampire stuff, I just thought that it was a really cool story and I especially loved the romance in it. I saw the first two and loved them before I was saved. I saw the 3rd Twilight movie yesterday...I sat there the whole time thinking "How did this used to bring me pleasure?". I do like that they had Edward talk about courting and how he didn't want to have sex before marriage.....But in my opinion, they could have taken that a step farther and actually had him mention God's will or wear a cross necklace or something to show WHY he thought courting was important. They could have EASILY fit that in. And it wasn't believable when he told Bella that if they lived back in the old days, he would have courted her and then asked her father's permission to kiss her. Who cares if that's old fashioned, guys can still (and should) do that! But instead, in the movie, they kiss, make out, and even sleep in the same bed all the time....and it's totally okay with him as long as they don't have sex. That's not purity and not courting. It's just like any other modern relationship, except he's a vampire. lol I know that it's no big deal, but I was thinking about that the whole way through the movie.![]()
Pretty much the only good stuff today are either the old classics or stuff made by Christian studios, such as Time Changer, the movies about the Tribulation, Fireproof, and several others that are out there.

I saw this on TV several times..it is the longest trailer for a movie I've ever seen
I guess they really want to drive this message home...
It will probably win a few of those awards that the hollywood people like to give themselves as they show up in million dollar dresses and jewels....the homosexual themed movies ALWAYS win multiple awards.. (brokeback, Philadelphia, American Beauty..etc etc etc..) Once again hollywood likes to portray how wonderful this lifestyle is, yet when they depict a husband/wife /children family it is always as dysfunctional..........this is the hollywood ideal ( but the truth is I believe they are trying to justify their own lifestyles)
WARNING: even though this trailer is approved for TV it is still rather crude and vulgar to me
Be imitators of God, therefore as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5: 1&2
Are you " All In" for God in your life?
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things shall be added unto you, Matthew 6:33
Even though I am against most movies because of how they negatively influence people, I still watch some of them depending on what it is. No nudity or anything that God clearly says you aren't supposed to see. But if the movie has lying, murder, etc. in it, I will still watch it because I know that it isn't going to influence me to do any of those things. I have to be careful about romance though, because I am easily tempted by cute romance stories to want a romance like that, which I am not ready for....So I have been avoiding romance movies and love songs at all costs lately. lol
