that word is used by emergent churches that seem to be against any kind of witnessing and evangelism

"Corporate worship" and "campus" grate on my nerves. I've heard them so frequently from local churches we've visited...once.

We did in 2007. We are now in a church that preaches the Bible book by book and couldn't be happier.

Again...nothing wrong with those words...they may be used in good ways....but to me they sound part of the psychologizing (is that a word?) and post-modernization of the church.

    Multiplication =

The services at a church I attended (as a babe) included a 15 minute lecture about "bringing tithes to the storehouse" then being directed to raise hands towards the collection buckets for a "multiplication of supernatural manifestations which would increase blessings in the financial realm."

"Outreach activities". That is very vague and usually involves the "missional" stuff.
Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Coming again coming again maybe morning maybe noon maybe evening and maybe soon!
Coming again coming again O what a wonderful day it will be! Jesus is coming again!

I have no problem with any of those 10 words. They are fine. The context in which the words may be used is what is important

    My favorite is "Life Group".
Yeah, it's kind of like a Bible study group without the Bible study.

The new church we are going to has life groups. The pastor has a sheet with 7-8 questions that relate the sermon and may have additional verses that relate. We are going to life group tomorrow and see how it is. I love the idea that they discuss the sermon. They also start with having supper together. Fellowship and Bible discussion...that's how life groups should be done.

Corporate worship and campus were words from our previous church.
and to wait for his Son from heaven,
whom he raised from the dead—Jesus,
who rescues us from the coming wrath

We have three campuses-- a main campus church building and two satellite buildings (theaters). we also have life groups that do what JK2150 wrote of as well as small group Bible studies. Once a month we have a special service mid-week where members from all three campuses sites can come together. That builds community and the church is a community of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Those words are not to be feared.

The reason we have three campuses is that our city forced us to plant grass where we had gravel parking. The city felt we "were big enough". We added services but were still growing. We opted to purchase land to build a larger single church and a school and after spending a boatload of cash with assurances from the city planners they changed the rules midstream and said yes to the church and no to the school.

We felt the Lord moving us in a different direction and now have a central main campus church and the two satellite churches meeting in movie theaters at either end of the city. We have increased exposure, mninistry and are seeing more lives changed by the saving Gospel of Jesus. We are a single church meeting in three locations. It's been good, especially the monthly get-togethers we we all come together as members of an extended faith community.

    God bless.
