Default Rising Gas Prices (merged threads)

I live in the Indianapolis area and our gas went from $3.09 to $3.35 over night. They are saying its because of all the stuff going on in Lybia and the Middle East. Have your prices risen?

I think it might be up and down for a while but I honestly think we will see $4.00 per gallon by summer. Hope I am wrong.

Yes, we are also in Indy, and saw the same jump yesterday. Who knows what the price will be today
Glad my hubby only has a short commute to work and I am self employed so I can work out of the house.

Pretty soon we will not be able to afford to go to work. We have already cut back on our travel. Our gas budget has been around $350 a month but the last two months we have used that up the first two weeks of the month. Soon we will not have the money to cover the last two weeks. We simply can not afford to go anywhere.

$5/gallon gas by 2012 was already predicted this past December:

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/oil-executi...ry?id=12509267

Looks like there may be an opportunity for this prediction to come to fruition earlier than projected.
    Matthew 22:36-40

36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" 37 And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' 38 "This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' 40 "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

Agreed. At $200 a barrel the world will come to a screeching halt. That's pretty much what happened at $150 per barrel... $200 would just be worse. The masses in the U.S. aren't accustomed to going without, let alone starving because they can't buy bread or even drive to the market to see if there is any to be bought. I hope and pray that anarchy is never released widespread in the good ole US of A.

I wonder too. You know it can get worse because the welfare people will still be getting their increased food stamp cards plus I look for the govt issue them ebt gas cards soon so they can ride around in their cadillac SUV'S, BMW'S,MERCEDES unscaved. Why not they gave them free cell phones and paid the bill?

The economy has been bailing out slothful people for years. The bailout didn't just start last 2 years we have been bailing out undeserving people for years. I wished I owned horses.

You know the the old saying about teaching a man to fish, it ought to be mandatory every welfare moocher have a garden, ride a horse and buggy, however: send a transport van from DSS to take to appt, learn to fish and hunt to eat. Every dead beat dad and mom in work camp to pay back the debt to America workers.

Rising oil prices is only one issue multiple issues starting with freeloaders. I know I see it everyday when I go to work people stealing from workers in America. There are very few and far in between people who actually deserve to be supported with assistance and I believe that is your senior citizens. The physically disabled, not mentally they need jobs to feel self worth and accomplishment and to learn to function in real life if not put them somewhere's that they can learn life skills.

Mine was $3.50 this morning. I have to use premium in my car.

**sorry this is a rant, and I don't mean to take this thread off subject, so carry on, lol**

I worked for the welfare department for a while. It was not a job I could continue with because I would say 75% where able bodied, but they were cradle to graver's. Now of course there was those 25% who really need help. Those are the one I truly felt for.

We were taught to disregard fake social security numbers, also we gave out a "800" number for fraud. But that number called back to the local offices and we did not even have the authority to investigate fraud, which by the way was rampant. We would have people come in telling us that so and so is using their social security number but yet we were unable to do anything about it. We would have people show up drunk, or high. We even had a business owner from a Arab nation, he owned numerous gas stations, but yet he wanted free insurance for his children. We had to go over everything that he owned and needless to say he was doing very well for himself but guess what he got it. I just couldn't take it.

I live in Florida, and it seems like the cost of a gallon of gas usually equals the cost of a loaf of bread, gallon of milk, etc. (i.e. $ 3.00 for gas and $ 3.00 each for bread and milk). If gas prices double or triple, I think we are going to see inflation like we have never seen before in our lifetimes.

We believers know that the Lord will never leave, nor foresake us. Let us continue to comfort one another with these words. I am praying for my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, and for the lost to find salvation.

I have noticed the same in Houston with milk and fuel. Bread has a wide range--well under a dollar to about $3.50 for something like rye.

We are just under $3 for regular and diesel is $3.20-$3.49 today, which has been steadily rising the last couple of weeks. Milk last night at Wal-mart was $2.78/galon of 2% GV brand.

Husband said that the news was encouraging folks to stock a year's worth of food. I was thinking about this last night. We are always prepared for an emergency because my husband is a volunteer with the local fire department and we stay during hurricanes, etc. He is also ex-military, so he is "Mr. Prepared". But I have never stocked up thinking we will be here for the Tribulation. Here's my thought: there are many folks who are unsaved who are stocking up for much longer than a year. Some will come to know the Lord during that time and may be sustained either by their preparation or by others who have (and they make a stock pile somewhere to hide during the Trib). That is a very sobering thought. It's important that we continue to do the work of the Lord in sharing the Gospel to plant those seeds that are not going to spring up until after the Rapture.

Well, you know that Bush just lives to make Obama look bad. That's what this is all about.

This is why we should be drilling for oil in the US.....

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
