Default At an Hour You think Not!

John the Baptist, was appointed and anointed to Prepare the Way of Our Lord, He preached with a passion that caused many to repent. John was called by Jesus, The Greatest Preacher born of woman, John was priviledged to baptize Him, saw the Holy Spirit as a dove come and land upon Jesus and heard God speak "this is my beloved Son in Whom I'm well pleased"

Yet despite all of what John saw and witnessed, there came a point of which he was imprisoned and sent word to Jesus asking "are you the One or should I look for another?"

there came a point of John beginning to question in himself, to maybe "think not"

as a word of encouragement to us all, Jesus sent word back to John through the messenger's

"Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

how is that applicable to this time we find ourselves in today??

Jesus told us there would come a time He would come and receive us unto Himself and said it would be at "an hour you think not"

right now there is soooo much bad news, so much pointing to a time of great horror and devestation and impending gloom and doom and it can cause one to begin to question as John "are you really coming Jesus?" I mean they are talking of this war and that war, and having to pay this scary amount at the pump? kid's are brutalizing other kid's in murder, abortion is a thriving industry, our President is turning our nation away from Israel, economies are on the brink of total collapse..what if this and what if that? Lord it's scary, you begin to question and even doubt "Lord are you going to leave us here?"

but there's great news, "I AM COMING AT AN HOUR YOU THINK NOT"

You might be one who has been greatly convinced and even been preparing His Way, warning and sharing and working in the fields proclaiming "Jesus is Coming" "1948" you cry, began the "final countdown" you have read and studied and proclaimed your conviction "these are the last days"

but now, your carnal man screams "are they really?" You wrestle and pray and cry out "Jesus Come Quickly"

at an hour John thought not, Jesus sent word and encouraged John and I believe God is wanting to encourage us...that IF we enter a time we begin to "think not" "Look Up! He IS Coming"
Romans 13:11 This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here.

Your insight of this blessed me very much! I never looked at the scripture this way before. I have to fight negative thoughts often, like, is He really coming soon? (I hate to admit it, but I do fight against thoughts like this sometimes.) Now I can turn my thoughts around quickly.

If I "think not" it really means His coming is even closer! Wow!

A very nice blessing, indeed. Thank You!

    A timely bump I'm sure

With everything that's currently going on, and the possibility that it can all just fizzle out and there are no wars/invasions/land giveaways, no dividing Jerusalem, no UN vote etc..

We still need to keep our wits about us, keep on looking up and remembering that Jesus WILL come back for us and at a time when we are not expecting it.

So if we're all still here a year from now, our mindset must be the same as it is just now, keep on keeping on and keep on looking up.

Wonderful! Indeed, what's happening now is all so surreal and tense that I OFTEN think, "What if I'm we're wrong? What if I'M wrong? And these aren't the last days we've been waiting for at all?" There's always an inner doubter but now that doubter is more loud.

But, there's no escaping from the fact that they're saying peace and security. We know what to do on that cue!
