The announcement was abrupt, coming after the White House had declared a so-called lid, meaning no other news would be coming for the remainder of the day.

I think that Bin Laden has been dead for years. President Obama probably just found the evidence so he could take credit.
I had heard rumors that he was killed back in early 2000's and that instead of all his messages were being done by tape where as before it was video. So until we see his body like we did Hussein, I won't believe it and does it also come as just as Barack announces his running for a second term, I think this just sealed his reelection
