I made a few jumps, back in the 1970's in Minnesota. There was no tandem jumping back than. You just went up and jumped out. The first three jumps were on a static line at 3000 ft. than we went up to 5000 ft. for the first free fall. After my brother-in-law got hurt "both ankles broken" I quite and haven't done it sense.

Wow! Roller coasters are about as much thrill as I can handle, which is ironic because I have problems with panic (my body probably asks me, "What are you doing!?" but by then the ride's over. ). I'm getting better; going on a roller coaster hundreds of miles away from home (got a little agoraphobia too) was a big step for me.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

In the event of darkness, depression, sadness, or loneliness, your Bible can be used as a flotation device.

IT is SOOO much safter than it used to be. THe parachutes they use today allow for very fine control of the landing. In the last 10 years, the only perosn I know that hurt an ankle on landing was using a high performance parachute and didn't flair on the landing in time. Their old chut they would have been fine, but they were using a much smaller performance chut that time.

If you liked the free fall, you should give it another try with today's technology.

The before training we had was the evening before we got up on a table, yes I said a table ans was told to jump off and land on both feet. After I did that they said there thats what the landing will be like. I had packed my brother-in laws parachute a few times so I didn't need that training so after the jump off the table, the next morning we went up. Probably changed a little sense than.
