Thumbs up Demon: A Memoir by Tosca Lee

Just read this book, it was fantastic! It sounds like a horror read, but its not, I promise. A man interviews a demon because he wants to tell his view of the Bible. Its very thought provoking and intriguing. Very biblically sound, from what I could gather.

Lee also has another book called Havah: The Story of Eve that was also excellent!!!

Yes, I read this. Very good book and gives you more insight as to why and how they fell and their intense hatered for human beings. By showing that, I feel like it gave me another insight into Gods intense love for
us, which gives glory to him.....great prose as well.
    Interesting read for sure.

Interesting. A bit like the Screwtape Letters?
The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge.

With Screwtape, it was the demon as the narrator. With Demon: A Memoir, there is a writer, he is the narrator, that has an encounter with a demon that wants his side of the fall and their view of man recorded for a book. There are also alot of twists and turns along the way. It is a page turner and has alot of visual description in it.

Ted Dekker, New York Times best-selling author says, "So few books rattle me to the core yet lift my hopes to the heavens in the same breath. It is a must read."

It really is a book like that.

...I need a kindle. I was wondering if it was something that I would really want, because I really like having the book in my hand when reading. But from what Im hearing, it sounds like an interesting gadget to have.

Hey Serene, I most normally shoot for an actual tangible book over an electronic device. Due to my impatience, I ordered it for my kindle app I have on my Droid 2. (If I spent x amount of dollars for the phone, no WAY am I shelling out more for "device") LOL!

I literally started to read when I posted last night, and finished it around 10 this morning. What a most FANTASTIC read!!! How beautifully written, emotionally striking, descriptive... it cuts right to the heart! I loved it!!!I can't wait to hear what other people thought once they finished it. I actually want to read it again.

Now regarding the Kindle, does it do other things or can you just download books? I didnt know that you can also have it as an app on your phone!!! Im so behind when it comes to new technology. lol, I still dont know how to do everything on my blackberry.....

I just had an interesting thought.Could this be a good witnessing tool? What do you think would happen if you by accident left it in a lunch room where you know people would look through it?It is not something I would be interested in reading but I think they would.Does it have alot of Christian reference?

I recently read this book. It was well written and very disturbing. The demon Lucian, is a very interesting character in the novel. There are times in the novel when he is almost, but not quite, a sympathetic creature and then his true nature comes through.

All in all a very good read.

Yes, it would make people interested, because of the title and they would get into the story. There are times in the book when it is clear that one has to make a choice where they will end up after death. So, this may be a great witness tool....there are many Christian references throughout the book. It is a Christian fiction book written by a Christian author.

You can access the Internet if a wireless connection is available.

Jesus said the priests' father was satan - a murderer from the beginning.

Whether directly, suicide, or through influenced men, there is little doubt they have dealings with death.

IMO, Columbine, VT are examples of such influence.
