Yikes. I was here in Baltimore. It was my first earthquake. I thought the concrete roof over my head was caving in, and I was going to see Jesus soon.

I got on the phone with my daughter in Fayetteville, NC to tell her what happened, and she said, "I felt it too" "I felt it too" not comprehending how someone in Baltimore and in NC could feel it?! We had no idea what was happening.

After she told me, I figured someone dropped an H-bomb in the US, or we had an electromagnetic pulse. I did not know that earthquakes can be felt so far away. It was a 5.9 on the Richter scale, with the epicenter in Richmond, VA.

Whatever it is, I can tell you without a doubt that this is NOT normal for Baltimore. I had to be careful opening closets or doors afterwards, as items had fallen over.

Personally, I believe the Lord is involved with allowing this, and I'm sure there is a good reason.

According to this, some people here in Georgia did feel it, but I didn't.

But then, I was in a classroom with about 18 4-year-olds at the time . . . so I probably wouldn't have noticed anything unusual anyway.

    Atlanta Journal-Constipation . . . I mean, Constitution reported it as well:

I felt the earthquake this was my first time and I was scared. At first it was just a tremble then next things started to fall off the shelf. We made way for the stairs and got out of the building. I do think God is trying to get the world's attention. I don't think it was a coincidence that it just happen to hit where the president was once again vacationing.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. ( 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)

I can't wait to go home soon!

According to a couple of news outlets (AccessNorthGA and Atlanta Journal-Constitution), it was even felt as far south as here in Georgia. I posted on the other thread that I didn't feel it, but then I was in a classroom full of 18 4-year-olds at the time.

    My first thought; how appropriate.

Second thought, Thanks, Lord, I needed some encouragement.

I really don't think we'll be here for long now.

When I heard it was felt in DC, first thing I thought of was how Obama keeps turning his back on Israel.

I understand these buildings are built to endure natural disasters and EQs, but the thought is seriously disturbing.
We had a 5.0 quake when I was only on the 10th floor. The pictures on the wall swung and chairs rolled across the room. Can't imagine how scary a stronger quake like the one today would feel in a sky scraper.

Reported as one of the biggest on the East Coast in decades or longer.
Hannity had a siesmologist on as guest today who said this is the strongest quake in that region since the late 1800s.

No one was killed or injured today. The Lord is mercifully & lovingly telling the nation to stop scoffing at Last Days prophecy and open a Bible.

I always think this. As a matter of fact, I've been 'waiting' for the repercussions of Obama's policy toward Israel for a while now.

I guess I can take comfort that the building I work in seems to be rather solid. We felt nothing in there.

My husband had a day off today and was helping out at his parents' place. He said they felt a tremor in the house.
I called him when I left work and he asked me if I felt the earthquake. I thought he was joking at first.

I'm very surprised at how far away this quake was felt!

Absolutely amazing given all the other 'signs' we see!
Rigid structures like ones built of brick and rocks that can't bend without breaking are the ones that don't do well in earthquakes. When I was a kid in So Cal around 1970 give or take a year there was a big quake in our town. It was 7.something. Buildings that were heavily damaged were brick and mortar.

Yellowstone Caldera - I was just telling my friend that this afternoon when she called after the quake. These have to be affecting that caldera - especially the quake in Colorado. That one will be a showstopper if it goes.

God just fired a warning shot, and just outside DC, how obivous can it be. Mr Obama, heed the warning, you are travelling further down the path of destruction, you are nearing the point of no return. Repent.

Off topic/Random useless information:I stayed just outside DC for four months last year, I would have been very close to the epicenter. Scary thoughts

I work in VA about 1 1/2 hour from DC. i was between conducting job interviews and went to get a drink of water. When I got back I thought I had entered the twilight zone. The other 3 people helping me with the phone interviews were complaining about the shaking and wondering if they should evacuate the building. I had no idea what they were talking about. I just couldn't get my mind wrapped around the fact that an earthquake had occurred. I hadn't felt a thing!. I kinda feel disappointed about that lol I feel I can say that in jest since there does not seem to be any real damage and no loss of life. Anyway we got back on the phone and started the 2nd interview. The person we were interviewing was from VA also but several hours away from we are located. However, she had felt the quake too.

19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
