Around 3 AM, I couldn't sleep so I turned on the TV and started flipping channels. For some reason, I did something I never do, I stopped on CNN.Don Lemon was one. I never watch CNN so I didn't know who he is. After watching him, I looked up some info on him. He says he was born black and gay, and can't change either one.
He did an opinion piece which started out with some archive footage of George Wallace from the 1960's saying "And I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow and segregation forever". Then a clip was shown of Mitt Romney saying "marriage is a relationship between one man and one woman". Mr. Lemon claimed he wasn't singling out Mitt Romney or republicans, and he proved it by showing clips of black Christians who don't agree with gay marriage. Mr. Lemon then went on to say "it is certainly okay to disagree with anyone, to disagree with the president, but what is not okay is when your disagreement is based on interpretation and how someone told you to think or to feel, and when it's not based on fact and true self examination".
He then went on to show a clip of Michael Eric Dyson, who I am also unfamiliar with, offering some "great advice". Mr. Dyson said "black Christians must be deeply rooted in their faith, but not deeply entrenched in bigotry. And furthermore, do we want to become sexual rednecks"?
Mr. Lemon came back on and said "...not fall for the same rhetoric, the same teachings, the same scripture that bigots used to keep black people on the back of the bus...".Mr. Lemon, please don't tell me how to think. I have the Most High God/Creator and His Word and His Word is something that's been tried over and over, and never failed.
Wow. This guy is desperate to feel justified in his sin and that's what homosexuality is Mr. Lemon, a sin. I am one sexual redneck that is not going to go along with your fantasy! Think of all the people who influence our lives with their words. From the very earliest, our parents tell us what to do and think. In school, teachers add to this. In life, the government and media add to this. 'Intellectuals', especially people who love to read are influenced in their thoughts by all the different authors they read. What does one get from all of this? A bunch of different opinions about how to live life. A pick and choose smorgasbord, with quite a bit of junk food and precious few healthy dishes. And in the case of the junk food/sin, it's always more appealing.
The fact is...no civilization that ever embraced homosexuality has survived as a powerful nation. That's a secular fact. Suicide among homosexuals, who are never forced to sit on the back of a bus, is higher than among the general population. That's another secular fact. It has destroyed many a nation, culture, civilization and life. That's a sad, sad fact.
Self examination is no good is one is examining themselves in order to justify their sins. One cannot look at themselves objectively if ones thoughts are "I'm a good guy and a homosexual, therefore homosexuality must be okay". This shameless promotion of sexual deviancy is a lie the world would have us all believe. It weakens a person's morals and separates them from their Creator. It is nothing but Satan gathering as many souls for perdition as he can fool.
The Word, the Truth of the Lord is a never ending gourmet meal, one in which ones gains great health while enjoying one delicacy after another! It leads to eternal life. Why does God hate the sin of homosexuality? It's because like all sin, it keeps one from coming to Him for mercy and grace. It makes people ignorant of the blessings God wants to give us, choosing instead filth and destruction. Mr. Lemon, in his opinions, has shown how far he is from the Lord, and how he has chosen eternal condemnation, a foolish choice. That is the sad fate of all who choose the 'gods' of this world rather than the Creator God!
Mr. Lemon, we're not against gay marriage because we would like to see you on the back of the bus or because we are sexual rednecks. We are against it because the Creator has called it abominable, and we have seen nothing good come of this horrendous sin. It destroys not only those who engage in it and keeps them from humbling themselves to Jesus, but it goes further and is documented to having caused the destruction of entire nations! The Lord has made it clear it is bad and He wants nothing but His best for us. If only people ensnared by the lies of the world and of the devil would open their eyes and see the precarious predicament they are in. If only they would repent rather than tell the rest of us they we are oppressing them. If only they would trust in Jesus and let the Lord change their hearts and their lives, how blessed their lives could be. If only they would stop being a part of all the problems and let Jesus be the solution, how things could actually change, for the better.
