    Great Movie!!!!

Husband and I saw it yesterday.... We both CRIED like ball bags the whole movie (hit very close to home because we have 2 daughters). The acting was the best so far out of the other Christian movies I have seen. I just pray that all who see it will not view it as a movie but take to heart the message/truth of the movie... All and all a wonderful movie that hits every area (funny, thought provoking, some action, and great moral content).
    Many Blessings,
    Laura

    Default Courageous

DH and I don't get to the movies very often - last night was the first time in 16 months, but if you get the opportunity, go see Courageous. It is a Christian film made by the producers of Fireproof and about fatherhood. If you are a father or ever plan to be a father, it is 100% worth your time to see.

    Happy Monday!

we have another thread talking about it also. I love this movie. I have loved everything that Sherwood church made so far. They truly preach the gospel in a great way, as usual.
Psalm 30:11-12 (New King James Version)

    11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

If I ever wanted to get back into working on films (I was a digital artist/animator), I'd want to work for them in some capacity. I love what they do.

Sweet! Where's the other thread? I'd love to follow it. I'm curious what other people thought of it.

My husband and I just got home awhile ago from seeing Courageous! It was amazing! The plot was seamless; the acting was superb. I'm happy so many unsaved people get to hear the gospel. What a nice time we had, seeing something family friendly and Christ-centered. Now THAT'S a movie I don't mind spending 14.00 on.

Christiancinema.com is a great site to keep up on new and soon to be released
Christian movies. They give reviews and an idea of what the movie is about,
who's in it, producers, etc. That is how I heard about Courageous first.
Looking forward to it coming out on DVD. I would love for my son to be able
to see it. He is unsaved, but has 'adopted' three kids with his girlfriend, who
is their natural mother. He has done so much to bring them up with love,
discipline and teaching them right from wrong. And now he has his first baby on
the way, too! He is such a good father. I think, from reading your posts, that
it would have an important impact on him.

    Default Catholic Endorsement?

I heard that this was being advertized on Salt and Light radio. Salt and Light is a RCC network. Do they know that this movie will not promote RC doctrine?

    Just wondering.....

I would hope that some would see it and be convicted.

I saw the movie "Courageous" this afternoon. Extremely well directed and overall well done. It's a first class movie, and of course, the content is well worth it.

I felt this was a vital message movie. It challenges me as a child of God to walk the walk and live like Christ is a motivation to my very being - no matter what the roll may be - and how important it is to value every minute we have to affect any other life. As a Sister, Mother, Grandmother, etc. This is for all relationships.

Give our relationships the foundational security and stability they crave and maybe fewer will not so easily settle for less.

Ack, I forgot "Facing the Giants."

I'd put that one first and keep my previous order.
Rom. 8:19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.
Rom. 8:28 God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

I love this movie. I've seen it twice now, and want to see it again.

I've been encouraging my father to see it, because he's fallen away from God, left my mom, and my younger brother and sister still live at home with my mom. My sister is special needs and will always be at home, but my brother is 17 and it is sorely obvious that he has no solid paternal influence as he enters into manhood. My husband tries to step in when he can, but he works alot and we have two kids also (one of which is special needs, too!), so though he tries, it's really no subsitute. Please pray that my dad will see this movie, and that it will prompt him to turn back to Jesus and be "courageous!!!"

Side note: Please know that I do not say this resentfully or wistfully, but out of curiousity, I wonder what might've been different about my life if my dad had seen this film when I was 14? Because at 15, I was allowed to sleep at boys' houses and go to drinking parties that my parents knew about. Like I said, I don't say this wistfully or resentfully, because I"m happy that I'm walking with the Lord now, and regardless of my past, I am His now. I bear no ill will and do not blame my father or mother. I just wonder... Would he have responded to the film? Ah well, no matter. I hope he sees it, and responds to it, and responds to the Lord!

EDIT: Posted the situation with my father in the prayer request section, just fyi.

The Catholic endorsement is because Courageous is a Christian movie. But Courageous was made by born again Bible believing Christians of a solid Baptist church in Albany, Georgia.

There is nothing "catholic" about it. Just true to God's word testimony of Jesus as our savior.

Those that made Courageous also made Flywheel, Facing The Giants and Fireproof.
