DID PERRY NOBLE LIE? JAMES MACDONALD SAYS NO
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Sep 22, 2011 in AM Missives, Current Issues, Features

In this time of growing apostasy within the church visible, as an online apologetics and discernment work helping to pioneer this much-needed field, Apprising Ministries continues on in our coverage of the falling away of the evangelical community with its new traditions of men (cf. Mark 7:9).

One of them in our pouty postmodern centerd on the self generation is turning the love of God into an idol in order to 1) try and escape having to make actual doctrinal stands and 2) to continue on unaccountable to Scripture with whatever given bromance one is currently involved in.

Unfortunately the fruit from something called the Elephant Room (ER), put on by Reformed Gospel Coalition Council member James MacDonald is beginning to have a bad odor about it. One of the people involved in the discussions was pouty prophet-pastor Perry Noble.

Yesterday in Perry Noble Whines About Critics…Again I reminded you that Noble happens to be one of the blustery Popes Of The Carolinas along with his disciple prophet-pastor Steven Furtick, who also shared his Seeker Driven spiritual skubalon in the ER as well.

What I showed you yesterday was the reason why Noble was drawing criticism in the first place was because he was actually caught in a lie concerning his methodology in some of his approach to his own pragmatic Seeker Driven ecclesiology. So, here’s the evidence once again.

At :13 in the video below on March 31, 2011 in the ER Perry Noble says:

When we get together [his staff]; we don’t just get together and go, “how can we p**s a lot of people off? I know, Highway To Hell, that’ll do it.” We pray; we seek the Lord, we’re asking, we’re beginning for His direction.

It’s not just me going, “I think I got a good shock effect thing this Easter.” It’s, we really come together with a purpose that we really feel that God wants us to do in the service.

The heart of the matter here is that 11 days earlier on march 20, 2011 watch below as Perry Noble quite specifically says to the pastors attending his Unleashed church leadership conference that he sometimes does try and p**s people off with what he does in a church service:

No way around it; first Noble says he sometimes uses shock value effect to anger so-called religious people [translation: those who would hold him accountable to God's Word]. Then 21 days later Noble declares something polar opposite and says he does not do what he clearly said earlier he did.

The reason I brought you the video evidence is so that you could watch Noble’s mocking gestures, the delighted look on his face, as well as hear the tone in which he told the audience—to cheers and applause no less—sometimes he does intentionally try and anger people in a church service.

So, did Perry Noble lie; James MacDonald emphatically declared today: Perry Noble Didn’t Lie!!! (see) http://jamesmacdonald.com/blog/?p=8944

GOSPEL COALITION COUNCIL MEMBER JAMES MACDONALD LOVES PERRY NOBLE
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Oct 4, 2011 in Current Issues, Features

As an online apologetics and discernment work Apprising Ministries has among its activities monitoring trends within the visible church to apprise and assist you in knowing what’s going on as well as what it means.

One of these right now is the evangelical community wooing Word Faith mogul T.D. Jakes—long reputed to be a modalist—which I touch upon e.g. in James MacDonald, T.D. Jakes, And Postmodern Obfuscation.

You may recall in Gospel Coalition Council Member James MacDonald Insists Perry Noble Didn’t Lie I showed you the video evidence which shows Seeker Driven Prophet-Pastor Perry Noble on March 20, 2011 state that sometimes he does try and anger people in a church service using shock value tactics.

Then 21 days later you’ll see P-P Perry Noble, one of the blustery Popes Of The Carolinas along with his disciple and fellow Prophet-Pastor Steven Furtick, tell James MacDonald in his Elephant Room discussions that he does not do such things.

As he often does, in his post Highway To Hell, Phil Johnson gets to the heart of the matter:

frankly, whether he lied or not strikes me as the most trivial of all the questions those two video clips raise. Stop and listen to what Perry Noble is saying! If he is indeed telling the truth, the full truth, and nothing but the truth, the admission he makes in that first video is every bit as ugly and outrageous as a lie. Here’s a man who is supposed to be a shepherd to the flock of God, arrogantly boasting that he looks for ways to anger and offend Christians who are more conservative than he is.

He hits on a particularly offensive idea. In this case, it’s a stunt so carnal he doesn’t even bother to argue that it has any redeeming spiritual value. Then he and his elders “pray” together to “seek the Lord’s direction” about it—and decide to go ahead and do it? Yikes. If that doesn’t offend every synapse in your brain, you must be devoid of love for Christ’s church.

If James MacDonald thinks the big problem with Noble’s statement was the “contradiction,” and if he is more troubled by the critics’ “tone” than he is by Perry Noble’s swaggering self-congratulation, then MacDonald is not going to be a very helpful mentor to Perry Noble.

I’ll say again: the public “mentoring” of bad-boy pastors by men who have earned a degree of respectability is a Really Bad Idea. If you’re a famous pastor who truly wants to be a help to a young foul-mouthed narcissist rock-star pastor, it would be better to do it privately and withhold your public affirmations of the punk pastor until he gains enough maturity to actually meet the biblical requirements for eldership. (Online source)

Johnson is dead-on-target; and yet James MacDonald tells us:

hear me, I LOVE PERRY NOBLE. He is a long-suffering servant of Christ, and I praise God for his passion to see people reached with the gospel. (Online source)

The problem here is that the Seeker Driven CGM gospel of the changed life preached by these “young foul-mouthed narcissist rock-star” Prophet-Pastors like Perry Noble and Steven Furtick, who’s already far surpassed his mentor, is creating scores of false converts.

Still-born “Christ-followers” who think they’re saved, but in reality, remain unregenerate. In closing this, for now, I show Perry Noble doing his best today to prove Phil Johnson correct as he tweets:

OH NO!! Ok, I look over the titles and read some of the threads in apostasy, but never really thought too much about it. UNTIL--- members of my Church left and started going to New Springs!!!
Then today, I run into a girl I havent seen in years. She tells me that her family are going there and love it!! Invited me to go to Easter service. Got to thinking on it and decided to investigate. And would you look at what I found?? I knew I had heard bad things about that place from other folks here in town. I can not believe people who have gone to good solid churches would be sucked into this. How???? Why??? I could more easily accept it from folks that didnt ever attend Churches that preach the Gospel. The lady today said that they go because there are so many activities for kids. This is the place that played AC/DC videos, right??

just over look the grammer errors. I'm tired and confused.

That is so sad and even tragic. They worry more about kids programs? Parents are driven to gear everything towards the kids these days. My parents didn't do that. We went with them to their church because we were part of the family. The tragedy here is the programs at that church are probably more geared to fun stuff and zero spiritual substance. These kids may never learn the gospel of Christ. I am so sorry to hear about this.
Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Coming again coming again maybe morning maybe noon maybe evening and maybe soon!
Coming again coming again O what a wonderful day it will be! Jesus is coming again!
