Default Notes from "Understanding the Times Prophecy Conference" October 7-8, 2011

    Hello everyone!

I posted this on the Prophecy board, and someone pointed out that this may be a good place to post it as well.

"Understanding the Times" Prophecy Conference was FANTASTIC!
One of my BFF's and I attended Jan Markell's "Understanding the Times" Conference this weekend.

WOW and WOWOWOWOW! It was so amazing, I just wanted to share it with you all--whom I know would have loved this as much as we did!

It was so full of information and great teaching, that the time just flew by! I just wanted to do a quick re-cap on the speakers and their topics and share with you what was said. I will go in order of the speakers:

    Friday Evening:

Dr. Mark Hitchcock-- his topic was about the 2012 end-of-the-world hype, which he dismantled using scripture--citing that it can't possibly end then because there must be the Tribulation first, and we obviously aren't IN it, yet. He also noted that the Mayans never claimed that the world would end in 2012, their calendar just ended. He did say that there is "something" going on in the solar system, as astronomers, NASA, and others clearly believe their will be some sort of solar activity around that time, but it is a certainty that it will NOT be the end of the world.

Joel Rosenberg-- "The Day of the Lord is Coming: why God is Shaking the Nations--Part 1"
Joel cited different passages about the "shaking"--e.g. Amos 9:9. He said that God will shake Israel to wake us up, but that is not judgment--YET.

He talked about the different ways we are to bless Israel--prayer and fasting, financial support, voting for pro-Israel candidates, but most notably, by being a watchman on the wall! He talked about the role of watchmen:

•Carefully examine the existential threats to Israel
•Clearly warn people of these threats
•Boldly and courageously share the Gospel of Christ

Joel talked about the two BIG reasons that God will shake Israel: Israel's rebellion against God, and their lack of atonement. Since the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD, they have NOWHERE to atone for their sins, and Jewish law says there is no forgiveness of sins without blood. There is no temple or tabernacle for blood sacrifice, so for thousands of years they have been living without forgiveness of sin. (They NEED JESUS!)

Joel talked about Gog/Magog and how everything is lined-up. He said the the two key players in the coming events are the United States--with the administration pushing HARD to divide Israel. Even though 0 said he would veto the bid for Palestinian statehood, can we trust that? Yes, the Pali's blinked, but was this done because 0 is fast losing his Jewish base of voters? Look what happened in New York 9! What would be his position in a second term, when he didn't have to worry about re-election?! And the second player is Russia, with them building alliances with the Middle East and Putin setting himself up for another presidency. He said that the most-asked question put to him now is "is Putin Gog?" to which he sort of shrugged his shoulders and said, "It's too soon to say. But what I will say is he is certainly acting 'Gogesque'."

    Saturday:

    Joel Rosenberg: Part 2
Joel did a quick overview of the Book of Joel and stated that these are specific prophecies for the Middle East and past disasters will pale in comparison to what is in store for Israel. He also declared that the Church must also repent of its sins, with two of the most egregious being:

•Pride-- the Church must repent of all vestiges of replacement theology. It is UNbiblical, prideful, and arrogant. Romans 11:2 proves that God isn't finished with the Jewish people. Replacement theology is ERRONEOUS!

•The UNbiblical notion that sharing Jesus with Jews is somehow too controversial or provocative--we MUST be sharing the Gospel with the Jewish people!

He said that Joel, Chapter 1 is a "wake-up call". That the people were basically drunkards, and the Lord was trying to get their attention--to turn them back to Him. He said that we should not be intoxicated, whether through chemicals OR with the world. Joel provided an interesting parallel. He talked about how people are asleep before a calamity or tribulation--just as the disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane fell asleep before Jesus was arrested and crucified.

Caryl Mastrisciana provided a trailer of her film that will be released next summer, "Wide is the Gate: The Emerging New Christianity (Volume 2)" It was RIVETING, and I promptly bought the first volume, which I plan to show in my adult Sunday school. Some there are NOT going to like some of the names being named, but I think it is important to OPEN their eyes!

Brannon Howse: OK, Wow. Just. Wow. He had so much information, my friend and I were literally reeling from it! I couldn't take notes fast enough! Brannon's topic was the "Religious Trojan Horse", and he cited Acts 20:28-30; Jude 3, 4; 2Peter 2:1-2; 1Corinthians 11:18-19, and Romans 16:17 to show the danger of false gospels.

He talked about the new world order which comprises a one-world religion, a one-world economy, and a one-world government.
Brannon explained in-depth about "Fabian Socialism" which mixes capitalism with socialism and was founded by George Bernard Shaw. Big proponets of FS HG Wells and Tony Blair. He showed a picture of "The Fabian Window", which is a stained glass window with different story panels. The top is inscribed "Remold it to the Heart's Desire" It, being the earth. The bottom panel of the window depicted several people bowing in worship to a stack of books and documents written by Fabian Socialists, one of which was HG Wells, who, at that time, supposedly wanted to exhort this movement to the masses, but other FSers wanted to keep it on the downlow. Tony Blair unveiled this long-lost window to the UN.

Brannon also spoke about "The Earth Charter"--the "new ten commandments" which were brought to the UN under great pomp and circumstance, carried in a replica of the Ark of the Covenant, called the Ark of Hope, replete with pagan symbology.

Peter Drucker, who is often referred to as a "brilliant businessman" and "the man who invented management" is a huge proponent of what he calls the "three-legged stool"--the merging and melding of Big government, big corporations, and faith. Incidentally, Rick Warren calls Peter Drucker his "mentor" (and also used the three-legged stool analogy in PDL). The term Brannon Howse likes to use is "communitarianism", which is socialism flavored with communism--a commusnism lite, so-to-speak. I think it was Shaw who insisted that religion be folded into socialism, as without religion, socialism cannot survive. It NEEDS religion. There is a huge one-world religion movement RIGHT now, headed by Tony Blair. I think it is called "One Faith". (I told you, I couldn't keep up with Brannon! ) Rick Warren was repeatedly sought out as a major player in the implementation of a worldwide religion. Brannon outlined Rick's PEACE plan, which is wrapped in all sorts of ultra-liberal gobbledy-gook, and topped with a heaping dose of earth worship. No, thank you!

The themes of social justice and social gospel were prevalent throughout his message, and he was not afraid to name names. And name them, he did! Quick sidenote: Apparently, this "namedropping" upset some of the conference attendees, who cornered Jan Markell during lunch break. Jan came back from the lunch break to apologize if anyone was offended. She explained that Brannon wasn't saying these religious leaders weren't saved, but that they were skirting along the edge of doctrines they shouldn't be, and that we should pray that they will turn back to the Truth. OK, those are my words, but in a nutshell, that is what she said, and she didn't name Brannon, I did because I can put two and two together. OK, sometimes.

One thing Brannon did very clearly, was to outline how the seeker sensitive churches would eventually succumb to the emergent movement, if they didn't start practicing like a new testament church. The church is to go OUT into the world, not to bring the world into it. If a church doesn't preach and teach the meat of the Bible for the more mature believers, and just continues to water everything down to make it more palatable for the masses, it is already on its way to becoming emergent. He said to watch for a church moving from traditional --->to transitional---> to transformational.

He talked about the "governing" body of the worldwide evangelical church:

    •The Federal Council of Churches
    •The National Council of Churches
    •The World Council of Churches

THESE WERE ALL STARTED BY SELF-AVOWED COMMUNISTS!

These are just a FEW of the things that Brannon talked about. There was so much information, coming so fast, I couldn't get it all. One thing he reinforced was that there is a social government movement on BOTH the left and right and both are MAN-centered. The left is about re-distribution of wealth and big government, and there is a movement on the right that tends to hoist the flag above the cross.

He warns about becoming spiritually unequally yoked, and that we should watch and warn with humility and tears! He believes that believers will undergo (and may already be experiencing) soft persecution from other self-professing Christians.

Bill Koenig: "The White House Role in Accelerating Final Day Events". Bill spoke about all the organizations that help shape both foreign and domestic policy--who has the president's ear. He talked about several administrations role in trying to foster peace in the Middle East. He said Jimmy Carter just about drives him nuts with his pro-Palestinian blindness. He says of the fellow Christian correspondents, he is one of the only ones that doesn't subscribe to replacement theology.

Bill touched quickly on the consequences of dividing Israel and the natural and sometimes man-made disasters that follow each time a nation (not just the US) tries to force the issue. Very sobering information.

One interesting tidbit--OK two-- First, at the exact time that 0 was being sworn-in, the WH website was being updated, and it was full of LGBT propaganda and agenda items listed one after another. Remember that 0 campaigned on a pro-family, pro-traditional marriage model. Apparently, the website was scrubbed quickly of this info, as people started to take notice. The other item, was that the first person appointed as one of the "White House Fellows" was Samir Ali--an expert and proponent of Sharia. Hmmmmm. Bill wonders WHY? (So do I!)

Bill showed photos that have now been deleted from the WH website having to do with Israel, and he showed the email from the State Department that declared the official policy was now to NOT refer to Jerusalem as part of Israel--that that issue is UNDECIDED, and henceforth, Jerusalem is not to be considered part of Israel.

He also mentioned that it is extremely frustrating dealing with an administration that has the most immoral agenda of any administration, and we need to PRAY PRAY PRAY!

Oh--Hillary just told Netanyahu in no uncertain terms that Israel was NOT to make a pre-emptive strike, even if all missiles are pointed at her. Hill basically told Netanyahu that Israel is not allowed to defend herself. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall in that room!

    Our last speaker was...
Eric Barger whose topic was "Chrislam". Chrislam is just as it sounds- the mixing of Christianity and Islam. Apparently started in the 1980s in Nigeria, the movement is gaining steam. He talked about how last June 26, there was a call for Muslims and Christians to worship together. He scrolled down this list of all the institutions that were inviting their "brothers and sisters of faith" to speak at their places of worship. There were hundreds. When he finished the list, he asked us what was missing from the list? The answer: MOSQUES. No cleric is going to allow anyone other than a MUSLIM to speak in his mosque, and how willfully ignorant and blind are those who think this merging of faiths is a good thing--much less a God-honoring thing.

At the conclusion of the conference there was a robust Q & A with the speakers (save Mark Hitchcock, who flew out the night before.) from questions the audience submitted in the offering basket. There were a lot of questions about Psalm 83, Isaiah 17-19, and Ezekiel 38 & 39. There was a disagreement between Joel Rosenberg and Brannon Howse over Brannon labeling seeker sensitive churches as eventually becoming emergent. There was no fisticuffs, though. There was a big discussion about Glenn Beck. Joel, who has been a friend to Glenn and on his show, declined to really dig into the controversy, but admitted that his faith is apostate, and we need to pray for him. Brannon; however, told of how he was a huge Glenn Beck advocate UNTIL he started to delve into religion. He lost him there and now considers his message and movement supsect and perhaps dangerous. He explained that Mormons, when they become baptized in their faith, become Jews, to which one of them said something like, "Oh, that explains Romney's support of Israel".

All in all, it was a fantastic, amazing, and enlightening conference, and I was incredibly blessed by it! The best part is that they ALL agreed that we are in the END end of days, and the Rapture could happen at any moment! I unfortunately cannot remember which one said this, but he said the Lord spoke to his heart in 2010 and told him that the year 2011 would be HUGE and basically watch closely! None of them hedged and said it could be another 100 years or gave any of those standard disclaimers. They all said it is AT THE DOOR and that we need to be sharing Christ with urgency.

Hallelujah and ALL GLORY AND PRAISE to the KING of kings!

It must have been some conference! I would love to have been there, but thanks to your good notes, it will be almost like I was anyway.
