What great news!! I believe it this time.

One Israeli warrior for a thousand terrorists. Sounds about right.

Rom. 8:19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.
Rom. 8:28 God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Just read this over on Joel Rosenberg's site.

Holding breath and praying that this truly is, the "real deal" this time.

I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. (Rev. 3:8,10)

Hopefully, after many previous, supposed deals fell through, this "painful" exchange will go through, for Gilad and his family's sake, not to mention the entire country. "IF," and after any exchange, Israel is likely to go about its business of extracting a pound of flesh for an ounce of cost over this incident, ie., the prisoners released, especially those with "blood on their hands," will have to look over their shoulders continuously because some of them are likely to pay a price and meet Allah prematurely. In general, Israel doesn't forget.

Pretty easy to see who was bargaining in good faith in that deal.

Yeah, who always deals in good faith - and it's not the evil Palestinians.

First off, let me say that I know that God is in control. I praise God that Shalit will be able to return to his family.

My human side however, is very concerned. With the support that the world in general has thrown behind the PA's, did Bibi just release 1000 more fighters??? I know it is in God's hands and I shouldn't worry, but I always fear for Israel.

I guess it just seems we are yet one more step closer.

I am glad to hear that he is finally being released for Gilad & his family. It isn't so good that a whole bunch of their prisoners is being released also. I just don't trust these people. Here is another link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-15267100

1 for a 1000. Don't seem like a very good trade does it.

What about next time, 1 for 2000

It wasn't a good deal/trade and no one knows that more than most of Israel, but there were no other options as many officials have noted. Shalit needed to be freed, aside from the inhumane and illegal captivity, to "clear the decks," so to speak, as far as future action against Iran is concerned. Israel now is free to act against Iran without worrying about or knowing that Shalit would be killed, after any Israeli action. And, that "might be" why Israel threw in the towel on the extortionary trade/swap at this point in time. The most important thing now is for Israel to try to insure that this incident doesn't happen again. The Moslo-thugs are now emboldened by bringing Israel to its knees and have plainly stated that they are going to try to capture more soldiers. Israel needs to be extremely vigilant, lest this happen again.

Especially if they take action before the release of the second set of prisoners.

Actually considering the skill of 1 Jewish soldier vs your typical palestinian terrorist I'd say Israel got a fantastic deal. No, I'm not kidding.

I'll bet to Mr. Shalit's family, it was a perfect deal. God bless them.

It's wonderful to hear he will finally be coming home. This whole mess was heart-breaking, and who knows what awful things he was subjected to? We need to pray for him, that he recovers from this ordeal. As well as pray for the salvation of him and his family.

And there's a well-known Jewish saying, "Whosoever saves a single life, saves an entire universe". That life is so precious and each individual is so valuable is very deeply rooted in them.

The Talmud asks why the human race was created as a single human being, as opposed to creating many people at once (like the animals which were created en masse1 )?

This teaches us that just as Adam was created in the beginning, and he was the entire human population of the world, likewise we need to look at each individual as if he/she were the entire population of the world. Therefore, when you save one life it is as if you saved the entire world.

    Talmud, Sanhedrin 37a states:

"FOR THIS REASON WAS MAN CREATED ALONE, TO TEACH THEE THAT WHOSOEVER DESTROYS A SINGLE SOUL... SCRIPTURE IMPUTES [GUILT] TO HIM AS THOUGH HE HAD DESTROYED A COMPLETE WORLD; AND WHOSOEVER PRESERVES A SINGLE SOUL..., SCRIPTURE ASCRIBES [MERIT] TO HIM AS THOUGH HE HAD PRESERVED A COMPLETE WORLD."
