    Default Medical scare

I was recieving chest pains for a month now and finally went to the doctor. I had to get Xrays and barium xrays, the whole works. All the symptoms point to a Hiatal Hernia .Thank The Lord, because I thought I was having severe heart attacks. So now I cannot eat steak or burgers anymore without suffering a flareup again. I may require surgery in the future, but for now it's a brand new diet and lifestyle. I knew hitting 40 would be like this Anyone else have to live with this ailment?

I had something like this happen to me in 2000, was on a business trip to East Coast, and started getting nagging burning pains in my chest I thought were heart-related, but they came and went intermittently. Made it home and went to see the doc, tests and more tests, turns out I was developing GERD (too much stomach acid, acid-reflux). Now I take a small capsule twice a day with meal, and life is fine.

Glad I didn't dismiss it as indigestion. Everyone, pay attention to your body!

I have a Hiatal Hernia too. I've learned not to drink too much soda, nothing with red sauce, and not over-stuff myself (like for Thanksgiving ).

I know all about drinking too much coke, pepsi and 7 up. It gave me kidney stones, not fun. As for the hernia, burgers (mayonaise, onions, cheese, ketchup on top), might as well have a nuclear missle go off in my chest I'm also getting checked for colon cancer too. Its a good idea at this age group (40-75).

Yeah, I had that done too as part of the "hitting 40" routine.
