    Default Food spoil question!!! Quick

Okay gals, I bought a ham for Christmas but anyway I didn't get to fix it but today I was going to cook it up but I checked the date on the unopened ham and it and it said use by Dec. 27. I had stored it in my cold cold meat drawer. It is the 31st today do you guys think it would still be good? I know my mom would say Yes (she came from the great depression so never throw food out ) But I certainly don't want to make anyone sick!!!! I guess I can run out and get another one??

I found something that might be useful for you when I did a search. It's the USDA recommendations (there's a whole page just on ham -- cooking, storing, info, etc.). Scroll down and there's a chart that might help you.

    Throw it out.

Food poisoning can kill you, and destroy your kidneys even if you do live.

I almost died from eating a bad scrambled egg at a restaurant, several years ago.

    NOT worth it.

Or, as my husband states it: How much would you pay to avoid getting sick?

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT FEED TO ANYONE ELSE
