    Default Inserting Images

No matter what I do I can't insert an image in my post. I have no problems with embedding videos or with quotes.

    serveimageCAKKSPFP.gif

    frohesneues - Kopie.jpg

I see that others posted those lovely pictures, like a Happy New Year glitter gif or really huge pictures, but it didn't worked with my posts.

I have Internet Explorer and the new Firefox. When I tried to post pictures with Firefox, it said, that I have no permission to do this? I still use Internet Explorer.

Can someone please help me? Thank-You!

    Hi Ovicula:
What I would suggest, is to go to Photobucket... sign up.
You can then peruse all their graphics, photos, gifs and jpgs.
Just put in a search of whatever you are looking for.
When you put your cursor over the pic you want to post in
a forum, a little drop down box will display the [img] code.
You can then copy this and place it in your space here and
it will then display your pic. You can first preview post to
see that it works right and then post it if it is working.
    Hope this helps.

Okay I just tested your images and here they are.

What you need to do is copy the http link from your cache and then enclose it in the image tags [IMG] [/IMG]

So it will look like this but note that I have removed the [ <--- bracket from the beginning of the examples below otherwise it will show the images instead (as per my images above) and you won't be able to see how I have demonstrated it. I hope this makes sense. Practise and see how you go. As notdecieved said you can press the review button to see how your post will look before actually posting it.

Thank you, notdecieved and $teve (how did You manage that?!) for Your answers!

But, I still can't get it right.

When I klick on the Image button, a little "Insert Image" window pops up. The background from the "Reply to Thread" window is then very pale. In this little window I can select "From Computer" or "From URL". I click on "From Computer" and then "Add an image from your computer". After it I select the picture from my computer, but I never get [IMG] [/IMG] tags, always attachment tags:

    Attach=config]3620[/attach]

I have no problems with inserting images from my computer in my e-mails or at ebay web forms, but that's too deep for me. Maybe I am too old or dimwitted.

P.S. To make sure, I always use the preview button before I send any reply.

You can manually use tags as well; once you get the attachment url, do what $teve did and copy the url and put [ img] [/img] tags around it...

Thanks to sweeetlilgurlie on Narniaweb for the sig

Okay see how you manually typed the image tags in your post that I bolded?

Now all you need to do is manually type them around the image url address.

So here's your url address of one of your images:

    http://rr-bb.com/attachment.php?atta...3&d=1325545206

Now here is the same url address with [IMG] and [/IMG] placed around the above url address:

    [IMG] + http://rr-bb.com/attachment.php?atta...3&d=1325545206 + [/IMG] =

I placed the + signs in the example above just to show the order of image tag + url address + image tag. When posting the image, you don't have the + signs included.

Make sure you copy the entire url address (easier to highlight it and copy unless you want to type it all out... http://rr-bb.com ........ tedious!

Oh, You both made me smile!

Since You asked so nicely, I will accept the dare.

    My first picture!

    Now I will try another:

So, after I figured it out for a really long time, I am totally exhausted and it's still to deep for me!

Thank You again, all of You

(This insert image program is way too complicated!!)

Next question (Do You still have patience with me?):

    I wanted to post a gif-image, 12,2 KB, 160 x 160.
The program said: Exceed your quota by ...KB.

The maximum size for gif is 19,5 KB, 620 x 280, so what is wrong? I am unable to post even very little pictures from my computer, which have the allowed size. I tried it with several.

Nothing works! There's something wrong with it.

did you happen to sign up for a www.photobucket.com account? it really is the easiest way. (oh and don't feel silly if you are having a hard time getting it figured out, we've all been there!)

Ovicula, yes that is because the images on your computer are not hosted on the internet, so they don't have a http:// url address. As icebear said you would have to join photobucket and upload your images to this facility which will host them with a http:// url of which then you can post the images as per the above.

Then I don't have any other choice as to sign up (Does anyone know if I can also store documents? One of my hobbies is genealogy).

Why isn't it stated by the program that it is not possible to upload a picture directly from the computer? That would have saved me a lot of work. I didn't know I must have an URL.

My apologies! That program does allow images to be uploaded from the computer provided it is in the correct file type form (ie: jpg, jpeg, gif) however I haven't used that so not sure how it works and what limitations there are on file sizes. I apologies cos I didn't see this as an option to mention it. But you're right, you can upload those images, but by the look of it, make sure it is within maximum size.
