    Default Hi

    Hi,
I'm new to the forum, I've been looking around for some time now and I'm excited to be a part of a body of believers in God's Word! My first post was posted but it seems that it isn't there..... it says it has to be checked by the Mod's first. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong and if even this post will get onto the board! There is so much to learn from being on a forum...... I'm a little bit lost, but I'm sure I'll figure things out! Is there a period of time where newbies are watched for before their posts are allowed on the board?

Anyhow, I'm glad to be here...

Hi Donnie...... Do you know if there are certain sections of the forum where the posting guidelines are different, I'm just asking because I posted a new thread in the Apostasy Part of the Forum and it said that it had to be checked by the Mod's. I am only concerned because it was a long somewhatish post and I just don't want to start it all over again, if you know what I mean.

    Howdy Gail21.

Welcome to RRBB. Hopefully you went over the Board Rules. If not, go up to the Forum tab above and go to the top stickies (posts that always stick at the top of the list)

From there follow the links to the rules - postings threads. These rules help govern this Christian BB.

or in the case of trolls masquerading.... down right heresy.

    Welcome to RR, Gail21!

There's a set of rules for this site: http://rr-bb.com/showthread.php?2-Bo...-Posting-on-RR

The Mod's do a pretty good job policing the site and I suspect they give a little extra scrutiny to new members because there are often non-Christians who join with mal-intent.

Hi everyone and thanks for the warm welcome,

I will share a little about me...... I am the oldest of three girls and I grew up in a home where my parents where Roman Catholic, but not practicing, other than sending us to Catholic School and doing the Sacrements. I was taken to Sunday School by a fellow neigbor at a Baptist Church and loved hearing about Jesus and in the summers I would attend Bible Camp. Throughout my teens I didn't attend any Church, yet there was something inside me that wondered much about who I was. I gave birth to my first son and called him Christopher because of Christ, but again was still not connected with any Church or getting any of God's Scriptures into my life. I met my husband when Chris was 1 1/2 years old, we bought our first home and had our second son, Kyle and within a year we moved! This is where I met a lady who shared the Gospel with me and I made a profession of faith, but, I still didn't attend any church for quite some time....... my husband and I stayed in this city for about 2 years again moving. Several years later we had our 3rd son, Shane..... life was busy and yet I never searched for a Church and never thought much about The Bible or God! Again, we moved, we returned to our home town where things changed....... I started attending Church, yet, I never spent time in God's Word!

We attended several Churches..... Baptist and Pentecostal! Just a little over 10 years ago I became seriously ill and in the beginning I KNEW God was with me and guiding and I can't explain how His presence was with me, but I knew He was, He was sustaining me. Those first couple of years we're so so difficult, I couldn't read the Bible, I didn't attend Church but God was revealing Himself to me, I was getting to know His presence, His comfort, knowing that He would never leave me and He never has. Even in the following years when I started attending Church with the boys and my husband I was so very ill, I just clung to His Word's I heard, I was blessed to have a dear sister in Christ who spent much time with me, God had a plan. What I find so amazing is even when we don't hear much of His Word and when we have put our faith and trust in Him, He is faithful to us...... we attended Church as much as I could, we did go to the Baptist, The Pentecostal and also a Closed Brotheren. I believe that we got a good solid foundation of God's Truth, but there are some things that I didn't agree with and there was some theological differences occuring in the Baptist Church, but overal, several years ago the boys settled in at The Abundant Life Christian Fellowship Church.

In the past couple of years, due to several reasons I no longer attend Church regularly....... one being I struggle immensely with severe chronic pain and a whole host of other severe neurological problems, the other being that many if not most people don't understand and I often, most times deal and have dealt with a lack of compassion, judment and criticism. But, God has been and is good, He has continued to be faithful! In those first years of being ill our oldest son left home and eventually left town and finished High School, attended College and met a young girl from Alabama, we live in Canada. They we're married almost 4 years ago and we now have a precious grandson, which we don't see often because they are not near us and it just breaks my heart! She was brought up in a Christian home also.... I know God is in control and is that He is Sovereign over all, I know that His promises are for those who put their trust and faith in Him, I struggle some with the fact that my oldest is not following Christ, he is not in God's Word, but I continue to pray. The two youngest, Kyle and Shane, well, Kyle is 18, he graduated High School last June but stayed another year and attends shcool half days, works and loves Basketball. Shane is in grade 9 and plays Basketball too, they both continue to go to Church on their own every Sunday, attend Bible Study on Wednesdays and every Friday they have Youth Group. The have gone on a couple of Missions Trips, one to Chicago in the U.S. and another to Toronto, they have an amazing youth leader..... I pray that God continues to work in their lives and to draw them nearer to Him.

The lady whom I met who shared the Gospel with me 17 years ago, we became friends, they have a daughter and a son and for over 20 years they devoted their lives to Christ, but a couple of years ago it all fell apart! They separated and they no longer follow Christ and neither to the children. My heart broke when I heard this...... we often wonder what happens?

There is a lot of false prophecy and lies around us and I have many questions and need guidance......

I did post a New Thread in the Apostasy Section, it hasn't been allowed to be put up...... I think it is most likely due to the fact that I included some links to other sites with regards to certain topics, just wondering if this is the reason???

If so, then I apologize, I had not read the Forum Rules first before posting and am not certain if I am not allowed to post "any" links" at all?

Well, I have said enough for now, looking forward to more conversation and sharing,

    Blessings

Thanks so much for sharing that.

When you wish to post links, it does take a bit of digging to determine if they are viable and true. Hersay, blogs, and tabloids do not cut it.
When in doubt, PM a Mod and have them check it out.

Also as a Christian site, generally links promoting cults and unBiblical teaching do not belong here but once and a while are referenced when exposing such falsehoods.
Again - Ask a Mod. You can find then by clicking on the Forum tab above, and selecting the Forum Leaders at the bottom of that screen.

[or just mention the words nephillium, FEMA, conspiracy.... or chocolate. )

So tell us what Jesus is doing in your life now, are you daily living in His word? How do you go about it?

Hi, Sorry it took so long... in getting back! Waking up everday with an illness and knowing that God is Sovereign over all keeps my eyes on Him and as far as reading His Word I either go directly to the Bible but mostly start out by reading a topic somewhere like my Daily Bread or my Choice Gleanings Calendar or some verse "somewhere" that gets me into His Word! In the past month or so I've done a lot of reading and studying on The Feasts, I have done some on the Debate of Calvinism vs. Arminianism over the years, they are intense and I have a hard time sometimes, but, God is faithful in revealing His Word and the truth, perhaps not always in our time but He is. I love His promises and The Bible is full of His promises and I have read many books such as Joni Eareckson Tada's Books and I get her devotions on Hotmail, many stories of other Christians such as Connie Ten Boom and others which I have read and which they too have suffered some illness or trajedy or another, they too give me courag. Also, The Bible is full of many who have walked by faith as you all know and their lives are a role model to us today, Job, Abraham (imagine God asking you to offer up your son?), Stephen who was martyred and The Apostle Paul and others.... They are Biblical role models for me and for all of us, when even in the worst of times we can trust in God that He is faithful and that He will bring us through the pain and suffering and trajedies that He allows in our lives, we can KNOW that He has a purpose and a plan and we must never forget the price He paid for our sins and our Redemption and that one day He will return for His Bride and that one day we will reign with Him in all glory! What a promise...

I have also like to read David Wilkersons Daily Devotions, I have in years past listened a lot to Beth Moore, yet I have not been so fond of her stuff lately, I find it to be hyper sensational/Psychology Pop, it has always been there I believe..... but I am more aware of it now... With the neurological brain damage I have it makes "just" reading a huge challenge, never mind discerning.... but, God's Spirit is in me and I trust and believe that even though I have listened to this that He has revealed truth! It's still scary when you know that many well meaning Christians are getting caught up in stuff like The Prosperity Gospel & Health & Wealth Gospel and so much more....

Yes, God's Word is ALIVE and His Word is The TRUTH that I need everyday, it will keep me always and one day, one glorious day I will be home with Him, I long for it, even though I love my husband and boys and my heart would still break to leave them, I KNOW that when that time comes I will also look forward to be with Him. Suffering is not easy...... I thank Him that I have Him, I thank Him for the suffering because I KNOW Him all the more, but it is still very hard, yet I would not want my health back if I knew that I wouldn't KNOW HIM the way I do now. I KNOW HIS PLANS ARE PERFECT! I KNOW that He has touched other lives because of my illness and I sincerely say this in all humbleness, my boys KNOW The Lord and I believe that they don't doubt His existence and their forgiveness of sins and His love for them. I have tears in my eyes because I KNOW that He is so good!

I'm so looking forward in getting to know everyone..........

Welcome Gail, we're looking forward to fellowshipping with you too.

Just so everyone knows (we found out just recently also) apparently when the system upgraded a bit ago we have a new feature that does not allow newbie's posts to post if there are links in them. It's intended for spammers. We have to look at them to see if they're okay to post. I'm not sure right now how many posts it takes for a newbie to be able to post links without being monitored like that. Sorry, it's irritating and confusing for our newbies.

    Thanks Buzz and Isong.....

I completely understand about new members and their posts as I was a Moderator for some time on a Private Forum, which had an Introduction section which was separate from the rest of the Board which allowed us to get to know them for awile first, till we felt comfortable enough to let them into the full Forum. I was just a bit confused and didn't want to loose my 2nd "winded" new thread post!

    All's good!~
