For those of us who are gardeners, and we may all be gardeners soon,
I wanted to share this site: http://heirloomseeds.com
for a seed source that is non GMO, non-treated and non-hyrid.
These seeds will produce superior crops, and the seeds from your
first harvest can be planted with even better results the next
season. Very reasonably priced, and you can buy by the individual
packet. What are heirloom seeds? Heirlooms are always open-pollinated varieties. This means that if the seeds produced from the plant are properly saved, they will produce the same variety year after year. This cannot be done with hybrids, which are a cross between two separate varieties, as the seed produced from those plants will either be sterile, or start to revert back to the parent plants.
I am going to try some this spring and save those seeds! Happy garden planning to all!
