    Default Posole

    Its a Mexican Pork/Chili/Hominy soup.

Anyone ever make it? I saw it on Triple-D and wanted to give it a try.

I looked up some Posole recipes. It sounds delicious and I'd try it myself except I think it might be a wee bit spicy for the rest of the family.

I wouldnt use Serranos in mine either. Too hot for the family.

I figure that something like Poblanos, especially if there is a red chili with similar heat, would be appropriate. Red Anaheim's maybe.

    Good stuff!

Our neighbors make it in enormous batches. I can usually tell when a batch is brewing because they roast the peppers, chiles, garlic and onion on their grill. It smells so very good. They make both pork and chicken.
One tip they gave me, use half chicken stock and half beef stock.

They make a fantastic Asado as well, if y'all would like the recipe?

Found this version through Chrome's recipe ap (http://www.gojee.com/food/links/pozole) which doesn't look very spicey. It looks wonderful.

Bought the ingredients today. Will probably make it Saturday. It looks like an all-day process.

He's a T.V. favorite. I never knew what to do with dried chilies until he explained.

I thought about it, but decided that a chicken version would be more popular with the family.

I came out quite good. Spicy, but not excessively so.
