Default Does the husband in your house feed himself?

Had a conversation with some people and also have observed girlfriends rushing home and doing things like making their husband a ham sandwich. (like when he is already there and been there, etc)

And if there is something going on at night, such as church, does the wife rush home to fix something for the husband (and family) to eat? Or does everyone get what they want? And assuming the wife is working, does she choose to not even come home prior to church - or whatever nightly event there might be- since she is already out, and maybe run errands until time to be somewhere? (and of course the husband (and family) gets their own dinner, etc?)

I can't IMAGINE we are in the minority! If my hubby wants a sandwich, he usually makes it. And he might make mine too depending on what I am doing.

And if I have an event to be at, I do not have to go home first and make sure he is fed.

I will say, just to make sure I am clear: there are some days that I might fix us something to eat. Like on Saturday or Sunday. It's just not every day.

It depends. Sometimes he's really good about feeding himself (and sometimes making supper), and at other times he likes to be "petted" (usually when depression sets in and he needs to "feel loved" ). And then there are times when we cook together. Those are the best!

I feed myself. And quite well too! I will also cook some meals for the family from time to time.

I make most of our evening meals, probably 98% of them. If DH is home, he does his own for lunch.

This husband feeds himself, his family, takes care of the domestic chores, fixes what's broke, brings home the bacon, volunteers for positions in support of the kids, etc... I'd love for my spouse to fix me that favorite something from time to time... but she wouldn't have any idea what I might want... It's always a blessing when I get a little help here. When it doesn't happen too often it's extra special when it does.

Im the chef of the house. My wife can cook to an extent but she learned from a northerner so I make her sit down most the time. Yes I am implying Texas and Southern cooking regin supreme.

So no one has a wife who has to come home to cook before going to a meeting, or cook for the family even if she is going to eat somewhere else, like with friends, etc?

My dh would insist on getting his own dinner in that circumstance. He usually handles breakfast for both of us, if we want something more than cereal. Eggs over easy aren't my forte so he usually handles those and he enjoys making pancakes for both of us. On the whole however, I do the majority of the cooking. I really enjoy it and he really appreciates the effort, so it is a joy all around to sit down together for a hot meal.

This OP sounds like a blast to all women who do cook for their husbands.

My DW cooks supper for us, she makes my lunch and breakfast as well. But then we are from the old school when life was a little more simple.

And before someone jumps the gun and thinks my wife is dumb, she holds a very high IQ and education.

I do all the cooking in the home and enjoy it very much, but I don't run home to make sure my husband and kids are fed if I have do something or be somewhere. They normally take care of themselves. I DO NOT like my husband in my kitchen. He has the tendency to dirty up every pot, pan, dish and cup there is LOL. I clean as I go and disinfect and he doesn't so I rather him stay out of the kitchen LOL! He cooks very well and I enjoy when he makes breakfast or dinner when I'm tired but when he's in there it looks like a tornado has hit my kitchen!

My question is if, like in your situation, IF your wife had somewhere to be where she was going to be eating away from home, OR IF she wasn't going to go home before going to a meeting after work, etc... would she still have to go home to fix dinner for you? Or on a night like that, would you heat up leftovers, or whatever you wanted?

I don't have to cook for my husband, but I love to. I am a good cook, and he isn't He loves my food and is always appreciative, so it is never a burden for me. If I have to be out, I usually know in advance and leave something for him to heat up. His work is a lot more demanding than mine, so I am happy to take care of him.

My sister cooked for me in second grade, the first thing I cooked was a grilled cheese sandwich, I moved on to sausage and fried eggs with toast, then poached eggs, I used to add green food coloring and made Green Eggs & Ham, later moved on to pasta.

I haven't had a husband to cook for almost 26 years now. If God does send the right guy in my life in the future, I hope he can cook. But it would be best if he shared with the cooking or stayed out of MY kitchen. I love cooking.
