All the Middle eastern countries threaten this. If anyone attacks Iran, or Syria or this that or the other, they always threaten to attack Israel. Soon Mexico will be saying, if you try to close US borders, we will attack Israel.

Cuba, is you don't buy our cigars we are going to attack Israel................

You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,

Default McCain calls for airstrikes on Syria

    http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/05/world/...html?hpt=hp_t1
(CNN) -- Sen. John McCain called Monday for the United States to lead an international effort to protect the Syrian population by carrying out piloted airstrikes on Syrian government forces.

"Providing military assistance to the Free Syrian Army and other opposition groups is necessary, but at this late hour, that alone will not be sufficient to stop the slaughter and save innocent lives," the Arizona Republican said in an impassioned speech in the U.S. Senate. "The only realistic way to do so is with foreign air power."

Leave it to McShame to call for this! The elites in DC & Europe are doing a good job at paving the way for their future leader. We'll be swapping out one tyrant for a bigger one. I can't think of one nation involved in the "arab spring" that has begun to flourish under their new leaders.

Exclamation Obama Says No Air Strikes On Syria

The President believes it is a mistake to think the US could take unilateral action on Syria. He says Assad will ultimately fall. It was suggested by John McCain to do an air strike.http://www.trust.org/alertnet/news/o...no-air-strikes

I have no idea, it hasn't served us very well over the past decade. I can't tell you how angry it makes me to see these elitists in DC pushing to send other people's sons and daughters, wives and husbands into places that they wouldn't send their own family members. It would be absolutely insane to get into another war.

While I don't necessarily agree with McCain's opinion on unilateral military action, something needs to be done to stop the slaughter.
    Where's NATO?? The Brits??

Also, calling Mr. McCain "McShame" is down-right disrespectful.
He has dedicated his life serving this country, and spent many years as a POW in the Hanoi Hilton after being shot down in Vietnam.
I think he deserves some respect.

Syria's Deputy Oil Minister Defects, Joins Rebels
Syria's deputy oil minister joins rebels, become the highest-ranking civil official to defect from Assad's regime.
    By Elad Benari

Syria's deputy oil minister announced on Thursday that he has defected from President Bashar Assad's regime, The Associated Press reported.

Abdo Husameddine, a 58-year-old father of four, became the highest-ranking civilian official to join the opposition, the report noted, and he urged his countrymen to “abandon this sinking ship” as the nation spirals toward civil war.

In a video that was posted to YouTube, Husameddine seemed to address Assad directly, accusing him of vast crimes in the past year as government forces pummel the opposition with tanks and snipers.

“You have inflicted on those you claim are your people a full year of sorrow and sadness, denied them their basic rights to life and humanity and pushed the country to the edge of the abyss,” Husameddine said in the video.

“I do not want to end my life servicing the crimes of this regime,” he added. “I declare that I am joining the revolution of the dignified people.”

The authenticity of the video could not be verified, AP reported, and Husameddine did not disclose his location. Husameddine also acknowledged he expects government forces to “burn my home” and “persecute my family,” the report said.

Assad's regime has suffered a steady stream of low-level army defectors, who have joined a group of dissidents known as the Free Syrian Army, now numbering in the thousands.

Brig. Gen. Mostafa Ahmad al-Sheik, who fled to Turkey in January, was the highest ranking officer to bolt, AP reported. In late August, Adnan Bakkour, the attorney general of the central city of Hama, appeared in a video announcing he had defected. He has not been heard from since.

Also in January, a top Syrian Air Force colonel defected to the opposition along with dozens of other Syrian Army soldiers.

Civilian officials, like Husameddine, have remained largely loyal, making his announcement noteworthy, AP noted.

Husameddine appealed to other officials to follow his lead.

“I advise my colleagues who have been silent in the face of crimes for a year to abandon this sinking ship, which is about to drown,” AP quoted him as having said. “The blood of martyrs will not forgive those who continue to conspire with them under the justification that they are employees or carrying out orders.”

He also spoke to the Alawites, saying they have no reason to support the regime.

“I advise the Alawite community and say to them, ‘The Syrian people is your safety net, and the regime will doubtlessly go, so don't be partners in killing your people,’” he said.

Meanwhile on Thursday, UN humanitarian chief Valerie Amos, who on Wednesday got the first independent outside look at the Baba Amr district of Homs following a deadly siege, said she was struck by the devastation she saw.

“That part of Homs is completely destroyed, and I am concerned to learn what happened to the people in that part of the city,” AP quoted her as having said in the capital of Damascus.

Activists allege that Syrian forces conducted cleanup operations in Baba Amr, including execution-style killings and arrests.

Tsk tsk 47 women, children dead in Syria 'massacre': opposition

Syria's opposition on Monday accused security forces of massacring 47 women and children in the restive city of Homs and urged the UN Security Council to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the killings.

Hadi Abdallah, a Syrian activist in the besieged central city, told AFP the bodies of 26 children and 21 women, some with their throats slit and others bearing stab wounds, were found in the Karm el-Zaytoun and Al-Adawiyeh neighbourhoods.

"Some of the children had been hit with blunt objects on their head, one little girl was mutilated and some women were raped before being killed," he said.

This is as sad as it gets... I am praying hard for the safety and protection of the women and children... If I could really say what I feel, i'd get kicked off this board... I pray that these dispicable deaths and many more like them will have a meaning in God's end-times will, and that these precious women and children will be remembered for their sacrifices...

But wait there's "O"... Sanctions will fix this and it will all go away...

    B&S in Christ pray hard...
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.... Default Syria laying landmines along border

Syria is laying landmines near its borders with Lebanon and Turkey, along routes used by refugees to escape the violence, Human Rights Watch reports.

The New-York based group quoted accounts from witnesses and deminers.

Default Syria Condemns Israel, Ignores Own Crackdown

Imo, it's troubling that Syria has time from its own catastrophes to blame Israel for something. If this keeps up, it may indeed *mean something*...kwim?

Syria Condemns Israel, Ignores Own Crackdown
Syria condemns Israeli air raids on Gaza, blatantly ignoring its own brutal crackdown on opposition protesters.

Syria condemned on Tuesday Israeli air raids on Gaza, blatantly ignoring its own brutal crackdown on opposition protesters.

AFP reported that Syria called on world powers to act urgently to put an end to the airstrikes.

The Syrian Foreign Minister said in a statement that the country “roundly condemns Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and urges the international community to undertake urgent steps to put an end to these activities and to sanction those responsible.”

The ministry also reiterated “Syria's support for the people of Gaza,” according to the AFP report.

Syria’s condemnation comes following four days of hostilities, in which terror groups fired more than 200 rockets at Israeli civilians, while the IAF responded by targeting the cells firing the rockets – killing 27 Gazans, of whom 25 were terrorists.

The IDF laid the blame for civilian casualties at the door of the terror gangs, noting they were firing rockets from deep within densely populated civilian areas and using civilians as human shields.

On Monday night it was reported that Egypt had brokered a ceasefire between Israel and the Gaza-based terror groups. The ceasefire went into effect as of 1:00 a.m. (Israel time) Tuesday morning, but terrorists continued to fire rockets and missiles into Israel throughout the day.

As Syria was condemning Israel, it conveniently forgot its own crackdown on anti-regime protesters, which has resulted in at least 7,500 civilians dead and tens of thousands arrested.

On Tuesday, Syrian troops committed another massacre in Idlib, murdering 55 people. The latest massacre comes one day after the Syrian regime killed at least 47 women and children in a massacre in the Karm al-Zeitoun neighborhood in Homs. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/153736
