Everytime I watch a game or hear someone talk about baseball, my memories come back about the time my Grandpa took my older brother and me to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. It was summer of 1956 and I still can see my Grandpa sitting in the seat next to me with his fidora on and yelling at the players on the field. I remember the hot dog, root beer and the all famous Cracker Jacks. I still have the Hillerich & Bradsby Co, Louisville Slugger mini bat, with the Chicago Cubs logo on it. I can't wait to get to heaven and thank my Granpa for taking me to the ball game.

I have had the privalege of being with two of my grandsons while they practiced and played in Little League, boy now there are some memories that will never leave me. Just like the other fellow talking about how extra-ordinary his son played, my grandsons were exceptional players also.

It's a little past mid season and the Braves are hanging in there. They are 3.5 games out of 1st place but are in the thick of the wild card race. The Nationals are hanging tough. The Braves spit a 4 game series with the Nationals over the weekend. Looking at stats I see the the Nats have the best team ERA. I just read a few articles about the Braves trying to acquire Ryan Dempster from the Cubs. Nothing official though. How's your team doing?

Lifelong Pirates fan. I saw them win two World Series, and have been in agony for the past 18 years. I think that is all going to change this year, right now, they are the best team in baseball.

Go Bucs! I grew up a Pirate fan. I recall both the 1971 and 1979 World Series as well. I can still hear Bob Prince saying - "We need a bloop and a blast" and "a bug on the rug" and "spread some chicken on the hill with Will". I remember players such as Clemente, Mazeroski, Stargell, Manny Sanguillen, Richie Hebner, Al (scoops) Oliver, Matty Alou, Bob Robertson, Bill Robinson, Gene Alley, Rennie Stennet, Freddy Patek, Bruce Kison, Steve Blass, Jim Rooker, Richie Zisk, Doc Ellis, Dave Parker, Danny Murtaugh and a few more. I was at Three Rivers when Roberto Clemente got his 3000th hit. It might have been the last game of the 1971 season. I do believe Willie Mays was playing center field for the Mets during the game and he actually came over and congratulated Roberto at second base. Must have been a double as his last hit in the regular season. If the Braves don't go all the way then I am pulling for the Pirates.

God > family > baseball is the order of my life.

I've lived in California for 10 years, but grew up in the Pacific NW, so I've been a lifelong Mariners fan.

I also play in a Sunday league (yes, real baseball, not softball). Great to be able to play the game I've loved since I was a kid.

Braves fan here but I am giving credit to the Nationals. They have maintained first place in the NL East for some time now. I was hoping the Braves sweep the Nats in this current series but now hope we avoid a sweep!

The Indians have managed to implode. I am not at all in shock.

And our Minnesota Twins are doing their level best
to hang on to last place in their division as well as
the worst record in the American League.

Go Nationals, or Braves, or Rangers or somebody.

The Indians have their own comfy chair in the basement. (they live downstairs in grandpa Steinbrenners house)

Silver lining, you won't ever have to utter the sentence "Carl Crawford is a Red Sox" ever again.

Been an on and off fan mostly in my youth, it wasn't until this decade that I became a hardcore fan...when I was a kid in the the 70's it was the Dodgers...in the 90's it was all about Cal Ripken Jr and the mighty O's. Many fond memories of coming home working the late shift and watching the replay of Cal and the O's on Comcast. Now my first love is my mighty Pittsburgh Pirates. Seen them a couple years ago at PNC park take on the Brewers on the 4th of July with an after game concert, Big & Rich! Now living 100 miles outside of Houston and seen the Astros play the Pirates last year, was hoping to see the Phillies and Jim Thome play before the Astros jump to the American. But its all good, next year we'll get to see my wife's beloved Yankees, and I'll get to see the A's again, as well as O's and White Sox when they come to town.

My life list includes A's/Mariners with Griffey Jr., Cardinals/Giants with Pujohs [sp?], Pirates/Brewers & Astros/Pirates...
