Oh, I was the original coward. My parents are completely shocked that I do this because I was so fearful.
Example, a bully pushed me down on the blacktop when I was in the 2nd grade. I was TERRIFIED of the blacktop (asphalt) part of the playground. I used to cry if the teacher made me stand on it.
I battle a lot of anxiety, depression, you name it.
But, it all goes to 2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV
See, we think we have to be good enough for God, but He LOVES working with flawed, broken, souls. He can shine His grace and love through us, and our lives, and make us shining beacons of hope in a very dark world.
#1. We have to be willing to be used.
#2 When He tells us to go, go. He will give us what we need to do the job. That's kind of the whole point, I think. If I could do it on my own - did I mention I had panic attacks standing by the road after my husband's accident? I still do? He was hit by a car.
But I can stand on a median strip with 2-3 lanes in each direction, next to an even busier highway, because He is using me to do it.
Anything good you see in me, and the work I do, is Him. I'm just the crazy woman with the sign.
That said, there are a lot of fun ways you can distribute Bibles.
Do you know how many hurting soul's you'll find at your hospital's ICU waiting room? You could put a few out for the families to find (my first official handout). You can leave a Bible anywhere anyone will wait (a lot of places!). They'll get bored and pick it up. Put a note in it "Please take me home!" so they will feel OK taking it.
