    Thanks!

I'm ready to go get 'em.

I must be doing SOME good. I had a problem with a toilet running all night, then when I tried to turn it off water started gushing out of the shut off valve. I got managed to stop the deluge but I have to leave the water supply to the toilet. Now Ron doesn't believe it because he can't hear it - but I can see and hear the water.

I HATE to think of our water bill. The devil wants us fighting, divide and conquer. He wants me consumed with anxiety and useless.

I was thinking about it, I always get a lot of attacks before and after a hangout. I'm not - it's a statement of fact.

My only question - what is more important, having an easy life, or doing God's will?

    ALWAYS the latter.

At least I didn't get mauled or something.

Ron just fixed it! PRAISE GOD!

One last thought before I head out.

God doesn't need me to be perfect, to serve Him.

In fact, my illness, the fact that I couldn't even trust my own thoughts - has fostered a pretty extreme faith. I know, when I can't trust my own MIND, I can always lean on Him. You can't buy that - that's fire tested. He has carried me through decades of nightmares, never failing.

God uses all the broken, ugly, parts of our lives - fills us up, makes us better than we could if we'd been perfect. And, knowing how He's healed our sin and died for us, we are better for it.

A lot better than if I'd been born "normal".

ALL things work for the glory of God. Romans 8:28

PS - Ron fixed the shut off valve, so we turned off the water to the toilet. We will be hitting the home improvement store once the storm front passes. We have a workable fix. :clap

So, my ride will come. I'll give the driver and any passengers Bibles. I'll set Ron up at "Base Camp" - McDonald's. I'll strap everything onto my handcart and roll out to my corner.

I'll unroll the sign, send up another prayer, and start walking, up and down the median.

God willing, He will send me hungry souls and I'll feed them.

Then, I'll go home and pray for them, and ask you to do the same!

    PLEASE pray for the recipients.

Today's special is a New Testament with salvation tract, "Where to Look in the New Testament", and a lovely greeting card "We'll be praying for you, daily!" signed from me and the donor who got me the Bibles. All tucked into a quart sized zip top bag.

Pray for that person, too. I am, but we can always use more!

    Well, it was interesting.

I got out there, and it was nice and dry. Ron was at McDonald's. I got out the trusty free Bibles sign and got to work.

One of my first recipients was almost in tears. Her husband had just left her. I told her I'd be praying for her daily and she really liked that. I'm really glad I put greeting cards in with the Bibles - I'm sure she got one of the "Sometimes it's hard to see God's will, but He is always with us" cards.

I had another car, she said "You gave me one last time!"

I had a lot of haters, glaring. No interaction, just a lot of glaring.

About this time, it started to rain. I put on my raincoat. I quickly realized the hood impaired my vision.

I ran into another recipient, and a lady I'd given a Bible to at the McDonalds before I left Ron (technically that is a "bad" on my part).

Not a lot of interest. I realized, Hey, Heather, did you ask God about this, or did you just do it when you got the Bibles? Oh, I just did it.

Hm. Maybe we should seek HIS will? Maybe He wants me to wait a few days?

And how many people are going to roll down a window, in this rain?

    A rather humiliating moment.

I said "OK, Lord, I know I stepped out of Your will on this one, could You make a good handout anyway?"

Then I had 3 people, in a row, wanted Bibles, and all very touched I'd be praying. So He did.

I had another car, a boy in the back, Dad in the front. Son wanted a Bible, but Dad was thinking, nah. I thought, Sorry, Kid, and kept going. As I walked back the boy had his window down, reaching for a Bible - and I gave him another one for Dad! I guess Dad gave him permission. They both seemed really happy.

I wasn't getting a lot of takers, and the rain was really bad. Wind, thunder, lightning.

    Then, hail.

I called it done then, even though I still had half the Bibles. Right after I went back to Ron, it got even worse.

We got stuck waiting for our pickup for 2 hours. I was soaking wet, in the A/C. After a while, I realized I didn't have my sign. I found it in the road, run over and sitting in a big puddle. That's the end of the sign, I still took it home.

Ron and I have a trip to Mardel tomorrow (they do laminating, that's where I got the sign); to make a new sign.

Finally got picked up and came home. I finally warmed up.

All in all, I'm glad I did it. It was fun to meet the recipients.

I've only met 3, to date.

I think God is also telling me I have pretty much "done" the morning commute crowd for a while. Next time I will do it in the later afternoon. I just need to figure out when He wants me to do it.

In the meantime, I will be handing out the Bibles in an everyday context, to drivers, cashiers, etc.

You never know how God might use this handout. Even the glaring people... may wonder later on at the crazy lady standing in the rain to pass out Bibles.

    Well done!

    Oh, yeah.

I felt sad for them. I also told the cars, as they drove off, they still counted as "recipients" and were getting prayed for, regardless!

Tomorrow I make a new sign. I got over a year out of my old one. Ron made a good point, suggested I get a heavier poster board instead of the cardboard, it can flap a lot in the wind.

I also plan to order some "Why Does God Allow Trouble" tracts, and some "Value of Trials", when I get more "Where to Look in the New Testament".

I was particularly happy I got to give the Bible to the boy (he was about 10, a good age range for the HCSB translation), and the lady whose husband had just run off.

Hey, even ONE soul makes it a good trip.

Speaking of trips, I have several paratransit rides tomorrow - I intend to hand out Bibles to all the drivers and passengers I can get!

A lot of the paratransit customers are in poor health, with a short life expectancy.

My Bible supplier double-billed me and caused an overdraft.

Either - more people are getting saved as a result of the handouts, or the spiritual warfare is accelerating.

Ron is handling customer service. He likes to help me when he can and I am worried about my witness right now, if I talk to them.

Plumbing problem redux. The bathroom now floods when he turns the water on. Ron: I need washers. So, tomorrow a trip to get washers. IN the meantime, a bucket of water when needed to flush.

Oh, and Biblica and my bank got into a "Did not! Did too!" finger pointing contest, but I'm supposed to get my money back tomorrow. The Spanish Bibles (the root of all this) arrived today. And I did not get hit with overdrafts, even with a minus balance.

On the positive side, I handed out 10 Bibles today. I thought that was pretty awesome. Cashier at Walmart, tellers, other passengers, drivers, and all gone.
