My heart aches for the Jewish people. I can only sit there and look at someone with contempt when they joke about the Holocaust. Sometimes they sarcastically say, "too soon?" and I have to remind them that it is always too soon to joke about the mass genocide perpetrated by the Nazis during World War II. I bet they wouldn't joke if they took a tour of Auschwitz and saw the chambers which were the last things millions of people ever saw.
iSong posted a video in another thread once of a recording made on 20 April 1945 during the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen camp. Someone recorded a very battered, very broken, but still very much alive Jewish people singing Hatikva, Hebrew for "Hope", the Israeli national anthem. I get chills every time I listen to it.
