Here is a podcast from the church we sometimes attend, Brandon Hammonds from IHOP came to speak and he taught out of the book of Joel. It sounded like the Dominionist/kingdom theology teaching. He said Jesus is not going to come back in a vacuum, Jesus is not going to return to this earth outside of human involvement according to the prophet Joel. Jesus comes back when the earth is completely filled with the prayers of the saints. Joel says when you have the corporate prayer meeting Jesus comes back. He splits the sky because of the cry of his bride. He went on to say.... We are forerunner messengers unto the second coming of Jesus.
He said that Gods favorite thing is to fascinate humanity. He also prayed for the spirit of prayer to be released over the congregation.
My question is... What is the context of the book of Joel? Is there a spirit of prayer that needs to be released?
When the speaker said...Jesus is not going to come back in a vacuum, was he saying there is no rapture?
I'm glad I was digging today my hubby wants me to speak with the pastor to see how they really feel about IHOP, but I think this is crystal clear.
