I have a Pandigital Supernova and just love it!!!!
It uses the Barnes and Noble store. But can also get Apps from
the Amazon appstore. and did download the Kindle app. although
I have not use it yet.
Most of the time I just use the B&N site.... but there are times that
I will be looking for a book and it won't be on B&N and go to Amazon
    and it will be there.

When you look for books just type in Free Kindle books in the search box.
That is what I do on B&N but change the word to Nook.

There are also 2 Apps that you might like.... Or any one else too

I really admire the HCSB and ESV Bible publishers. They offer them for free on Amazon.

I got an HCSB when I got my kindle but I haven't read any. I also got ESV because that's what pastor uses.

I told my older DS that I might check out library books for him to read on it...might...the other two kids get "real" books. (helps keep the boogers off my kindle, too.)

This is off thread as I don't have a kindle, I like the feel and smell of books too much to give in yet. On another thread RR7 you told us that you have a DVD series called 'Against All Odds Israel Survives' and last week one of our christian bookstores had it for sale in their catalogue. We bought it and I am half way through and thoroughly enjoying it. So, thankyou

http://www.classicly.com/ is a great site to get free classics that are out of copyright. They offer Kindle ready formats (.azw) for download. I've some works of Charles Dickens and H. Rider Haggard onto to my Kindle Touch.

RR7, the nice thing about a Bible on your Kindle - someone is going to love that after the rapture!

Ok new question now that I have downloaded books onto my kindle how do I get them off, I have pressed the remove from device but they don't leave my screen, and I am not sure if they are taking up space and I don't like clutter I only want to keep the really important ones.

They put such wonderful miracles in this series. You have to see God's hand in everything. The video on Michmash was just inspiring.

Your kindle can hold over 3000 books. FYI

I made directories on my Kindle Keyboard: Christian biography, disaster fiction, how-to, etc.

It was very easy to move the books to the directory. Now I have about a dozen directories and that's it. It's a lot cleaner and easier to navigate, and I can easily say "I want a romance novel" or "I want zombies" and go looking in the right directory.

On my kindle 3G/wifi I have "collections" and it makes it nice and clean, which i am guessing is the same as directories.

I have collections set up as

I/P - in progress (the book I am reading and a few others in line to be read next.
Not Started - books I bought but have not read yet
Bibles and study material - bibles, favorite teachers
    Fiction - pretty clear there
Stuff - that has stuff like a book of quotes, old books on historical figures and things.
    Games - again, pretty clear.

I hope to figure out a way to categorize my Kindle Fire.

I like my 3G/wifi I bought last summer (newest one then). I have it pretty much figured out. I post to twitter and facebook, sections form the book. Trying to figure that out on my Fire.

I do like the note highlighting and places to comment. good stuff.

I was wondering that too. I was talked into downloading a book an acquaintance self-published and very quickly realized this is not a book for me and I want it off. But it won't go.

You can tell I'm an old DOS user. "Directories".

    They DO call it "Collections".

I can do a right arrow click on a title and it gives me options on what I want to do with the book, like delete it, but I have a keyboard.

I think I figured out how to get the unwanted books to go away. I went on the "manage your kindle" page on the amazon website. There, you will have a list of the things on your kindle with a drop down menu for each with options. Once I went there and clicked the option to remove the item from my device it disappeared from my kindle (though I think you may also have to remove it from your actual kindle too, like we were doing). Hope that helps!

Thank you!!! I went there and it deleted them from my account, they are not disappearing off my kindle through, but it's a start, and I also saw the button for loaning so now I know how to do that too. This was very helpful
