    Default Send It On Ahead

    Send It On Ahead
    By: Maxine M.

One of man’s basic desires is a longing from deep within their soul
To accumulate treasure; using wealth as a status symbol…MORE, the ultimate goal
An abundance of riches, they think will some how, that inner fear console

Some lie, cheat, steal or even kill to obtain it, but others simply inherit it at birth
While others have been gifted with great ability and have prospered from working hard for what they are worth
Though none will take it with them when the time comes to leave this earth

But while still here, they fume & fret at the prospect of it all being lost
By fraud, robbery, deception or devalued by the market…sleepless nights it will cost
Make one suspicious of other’s motives…Solomon said it was like by a constant wind being tossed

And that the treasure wasn’t God’s only gift, but the power to enjoy it was a gift as well
To be generous and share was the only way a rich man could truly excel
Jesus advised a rich young ruler to “TRULY follow Me, go and all your earthly treasure sell”

Give it to the poor…but the man went away sorrowful; couldn’t bring himself to fully commit
He also told the disciples, “You cannot put God & money BOTH 1st…to ONE or the other you must submit”
But as we find success in life and as the treasure accumulates, it’s easy to forget

That wealth cannot buy true love, happiness, family unity, the inner fortitude we like to portray
Loyalty, integrity, saving faith…no amount of money can buy a healthy body strong in every way
For rich or poor, we are all subject to live in an earthen vessel that will one day decay

Now an abundance of treasure, fame, or acknowledgements might NOT be God’s plan for YOU
Not in this earthly life…but the promise is rewards of crowns WILL one day be given to those to whom they’re due
Sins will be forgiven & forgotten, but all good deeds will be up for review

An abundance of GREAT TREASURE, laid up for His children, for a FAITHFUL life led
IMPARISHABLE treasure, from the kindness done in Christ’s name…sent on ahead
The priceless preciousness of assured Salvation…to those who believe what Jesus said

Hidden treasure of peace of mind, a clear conscience, knowing where you’ll spend eternity
To sleep the blessed sweet sleep of the redeemed…free of doubt & uncertainty
Walking in harmony with your Lord…how much RICHER could you HOPE to be?!

Remember Paul’s words how Godliness with CONTENTMENT is great gain
Diligently keep in mind the purpose of Christ’s sacrifice…the reason He was slain
That our TRUE commission in life isn’t to accumulate treasure & other’s approval…that’s very plain

But it’s to tell the Gospel’s “Good News”; to be a “living testimony” as to WHY Christ came
That ONLY HIS blood could pay for their sin; not THEIR wealth, power or fame
That one day SOON He’ll be coming back and His rightful place as KING He’ll claim

Those who have believed His message and accepted Him as Master and Lord
Will be gathered to His side, then live eternally in fellowship…all of one accord
But woe to those who trusted only in the treasures they had carefully stored

They’ve had all the reward they will ever receive…it’ll be time for those REDEEMED to have a turn
We will have access to Christ’s Riches in Glory…waiting has its own recompense, we’ll learn
Whatever we MISSED in this life will be MULTIPLIED over & over, thus no need for concern

So don’t TRUST in those uncertain riches that can take wings & disappear
Or in MAN’S rewards of material compensation, recognition or the FICKLE praise we hear
But work diligently to one day hear our Saviour say “WELL DONE” loud and clear
    Make everyday a GOD day!!
