I read the book. The premise of what is true in the book is very interesting. I e-mailed the author regarding a couple of facts in the book that I knew to be untrue... never heard back. A lot of the stuff does check out and I was left thinking that he's maybe onto something with regards to God's judgment/impending judgment on America. Regarding the story itself, the dialogue between the main guy in the book and the person who is most likely an angel got kind of old to me. It was good enough.

I agree. I read the book but did not check his facts. What did you find untrue?

2 statements where he'd indicated we'd had the worst two U.S. financial market collapses on specific days... specific days that were important to support his whole thesis. The real ones occurred in Oct of 1987 and in 1929... far and away. He used one day drops that were more recent that pale in comparison to '87 and '29. He based the severity on number of points dropped v.s. points as a percentage of the total. That is disingenuous.

He was accurate about 777 point drop in the market on a specific day. I'm and investor and remembered that on account of the special number.

I agree with JJW, but I didn't get into the specifics that TT did. However, the similarities between ancient Israel and America are eerie....

I saw this book in the bookstore several weeks ago but didn't buy it then. As I usually do, I did a little research on it before purchasing. When I saw that several people here thought the theology was pretty sound, I went ahead and purchased the book last night. Interestingly, my wife even said that she may want to read it after me...which almost never happens.

So...I'm on the Fourth Harbinger in the book (up late last night reading) and it hit me...Israel's response to the first couple Harbingers (and likewise, America's) are yet another parallel to that of the world's response to the 21 Judgements leading up to the Second Coming...defiance. Just like Israel and America, there were (or will be) those that see the judgements for what they are...a call to national repentence...and those people were/will be ridiculed and persecuted. It's sad really...how history seems to repeat like this.

I always though these colours were significant. They are the component colours of every computer printer. Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow.

I came across another reference in Amos 5:4-12 to "houses of hewn stone":
