    They would love that.

The HCSB Bibles were a huge hit, the recipients kind of "oooh"ed when they saw them. I like how they have the reference section in the back for various questions, and a "Where to Look".

Been lurking on this thread for a while.

Ordered a case of NT bibles from the web site link in your signature block, Acts.

Handing them out tomorrow at food bank. Will see how it goes.

    AWESOME!

I'll be praying for you and the recipients.

My "line" - "I would love to give you a Bible" with a big smile, extending it towards them.

Sometimes I put them in a quart bag with a nice handful of wrapped candy.

    [happy dances]

Thank you, you really made my day!

Ok, Randall and Heather you just gave me an idea. Our church has a food pantry. There are 60-70 families that come every month for a box of food. Think I'll talk to someone in charge about handing out Bibles or having a table with free Bibles.

Do it! Do it! Do it!

That's a good "reachable" moment and you don't have to stand out on the corner with a giant sign, either.

The Invitation New Testaments are only 50 cents each.

Last night I was lying in bed, unable to sleep. I yakked at God for a while, and thought "I have Someone to talk to in the middle of the night, when I can't sleep. How may unreached out there, can't sleep, waiting to meet Him? How many are driving around right now?"

Which led to the next handout: Friday night, about 8-9 PM. Ron is upset, thinks I'll get murdered.

This is the best neighborhood we've ever had.

Anyway, pray for that to go well.

We also have another handout planned for Saturday morning. I seldom sleep before a handout (demonic attacks), so I'm not worried about putting them close together.

Tomorrow I get Craig his own Free Bibles sign, and check our vending machine. Friday I do the PM handout, Saturday morning handout.

Should be busy. VERY led to do this.

    Thanks!

I told God, if You don't want me to do this, take the thought away or let the doubts get me... but I'm as determined as I was last night.

My neighborhood is so much better than other ones I had. No used needles around the bus stop, no crack prostitutes, no drug dealers, no gang infestations, etc.

I'll be fine out there. I always envision at least a couple big, bad, warrior angels along to protect me. It gives me a lot of confidence, no matter where God sends me.

Off I go to do up Bibles. I finally got a little nap so I can work now (work on Bibles that is - I did my "tentmaker" work this morning to pay the bills). The apostle Paul made a living as a tentmaker, but his real work was evangelism.

I also got about 15-20 pounds of hard wrapped candy at the wholesale store, to put in with the Bibles and Scripture booklets I hand out. The candy is HUGELY popular.

If anyone is feeling a little timid about doing evangelism, it's a good way to do it. Get a sandwich baggy and a scripture booklet (from World Missionary Press), put in a handful of hard wrapped candy, maybe a wrapped caramel (you can do caramels if it is below about 80), mini chocolate bar (do if it is below 65), or other hard candies (smarties, starburst, stuff like that). It's a safe bet, if you like to eat it, so will they. You can even find wrapped candy and baggies at the Dollar Store (and I do that plenty). Hand it out - nearly everyone will love it, and the ones who don't are on a diet and really wish they could.

One of our customers, and a FB friend, is coming along Friday night. I'm going to make Donna a cute sign when I'm making Craig's.

Ron is grumbling a lot, but says he'll come too.

    Did up 230.

I stamped them with the church website, so they have a good spiritual feed if they want. They also got tracts and "Where to Look".

With the Spanish Gospels of John (in addition to the Spanish NT I have), I'll have over 300 for the two handouts.

Now to clean up a little so I don't freak out the Handout Helpers when they come.

    Awesome!

I've read evangelism should be infectious. I can't think of anything more wonderful, than meeting recipients in Heaven!

My husband is very good for keeping me humble, reminds me of John 6:44 - God does the work. I just go out there and distribute. I'm glad He can use me.

Today is Handout Day - the first one, 7:30 ish tonight. Dee Ann from work will be coming with, she might bring her daughter. I have 130 NT and Bibles, all done up in a couple of boxes for this handout. I also have 50 Spanish Gospels of John.

Tomorrow I do a Handout with Craig, from church. I have 100 for that, plus some more Spanish Gospels of John (my aunt surprised me with them a while back). Ron is coming on both Handouts.

Please pray for everything to go smoothly. I think it's great I have Handout Helpers this time around.

I just hope they don't freak over my messy house!

They always use the bathroom, so I cleaned it first.

Getting ready! She'll be by in a few hours.

I did cheat and handed out a "Vida en Jesus" to one of my drivers, who LOVED it. I need to do up more Bibles + candy for my everyday handout. I handed out the last of it today.

God has also reminded me to mind my witness! So please pray I do that. I want to share His love with everyone.

Oh, and my friend is bringing her teenage daughter. It should be fun.

I picked up several reflective clothing items last year, so I have enough to go around. I don't want anyone getting hit! :eek

    Kind of funny tonight.

First, we gave away about 150 items in an hour. Good stuff!

I brought my coworker Dee Ann and her teenage daughter. I set up tote bags, reflective vests, cold drinks, and done up Bibles for them. They just had to show up and distribute.

It was nice to have a ride, a real one that could go where I needed. I could get spoiled.

Remember the old days of me and the hand cart on the bus?

So, I set up. They're a little late but they get here. I load up the vehicle and we head off.

I put Ron on the median first, in a folding chair. Then I brought all the Bibles (2 boxes plus 3 tote bags), signs, etc.

I told them the rules, "Don't touch the cars, don't accept money, don't impede traffic". I showed them the Spanish Bibles and briefly demonstrated how I do it.

Dee Ann became an insane Bible distribution machine. I think she gave away over 100 items just by herself! She was watching all three lanes at once, darting in and out of traffic, and handing Bibles to everyone!

She said one guy in particular really touched her, he was a very clean cut guy, said "You don't know how much I need this" as he gratefully took it.

I was relegated to the crosswalk area, handing out Bibles to the cars there. The leftovers from Dee Ann and her daughter.

    I did alright.

Some of my favorites: the carload of young woman, about to go clubbing, in their sparkly low-cut stuff.

The Asian woman, who was happy to give me money, if I'd take it (I didn't of course) but said "OH! NO BIBLE!" and rolled up her window like I bit her.

The muslim, who didn't take a Bible but really thought about it for a minute.

Lots of couples and families. One liked the stuff so much they came back for more.

Carloads of young people going out to party. They'd ask for one, and I'd tease them, by saying very seriously: "I can't do that. You have 4 people in the car. I have to give you four!" and they'd laugh and take it, maybe make a joke about how Fred in the back REALLY needed a Bible.

I liked the energy. Dee Ann didn't like the nighttime so much but I would definitely do another night time handout.

I also got a guy who started quoting Matthew 4:4 at me. I teasingly yelled "Do you have it? Do you have the word?" while waving a Bible at him, and he laughed.

It was fun. I just felt a little useless.
